I was stuck on a plane for an hour while sitting next to one of the 32 NFL team’s Director of Scouting. Great guy. We started talking about my coaching and how he got into the NFL. 20+ years experience.
There were things I wouldn’t share here, but I will share the following:
- He’s a Bowles fan. Agreed that our OLB and corners are weak.
- He loves Kancey. He agrees with me that they see Diaby as more of a 4i/5 technique DE. Big/strong guy, but not flashy or very quick for an OLB.
- Agrees that we are weaker at corner with loss of Carlton and additions of Hall and Taylor.
- Thinks McMillan will be a good WR. Much higher on him than Keon Coleman. He agreed that he has good ball skills but won’t run by anyone.
- Loves Barton. Loves.
- And he knows in detail every college guy. Pretty amazing how much player information he retains.
It helped pass the time with travel issues.
