I admit it. I have a huge man crush on Vernon Butler DT. 6' 4" 325 pounds. Has shown the ability to consistently anchor against double and triple teams. If you see a huge pile in the middle of the LOS chances are Vernon Butler is right in the middle of it. He is taking on blockers and stalking the ball carrier. If they run in his direction, he simply tosses 300 pound linemen out of the way and shows off his incredible burst to take down any ball carrier who dares to try to shoot his gaps. As a one gap player he is simply dominant. When was the last time you saw a player display this kind of power and agility at 325 pounds. This is Senior Bowl footage where he was in a 1-1 situation. Then with his burst on full display in the very next motion he destroys the QB with a club move that produces a fumble and sends the QB to the ground.IMO Vernon Butler is an extremely rare talent. The scary part is that he has not reached his full potential. With a couple of years in a pro system this kid is going to dominate. Anyway, Butler is my guy. I currently have him as the No.2 rated player in the draft behind only the freak Myles Jack. IMO these are the two sure shot defensive players who are going to be superstars in this draft. I have also watched about a half dozen of his 2015 games already. This was not a fluke play. The kid is legit and he is only going to get better.
