.Nate Burleson Has Already Been In Contact With A Few NFL TeamsFebruary 13, 2014 Earlier today, reports surfaced that the Lions had parted ways with veteran WR Nate Burleson. He later confirmed the move via his Twitter account.Burleson joined Detroit Sports 105.1 FM (via the Detroit News) later on Thursday and mentioned that he has already been contacted by a couple of teams and expects to have something done in the near future.Burleson, 32, previously said that he was open to accepting a pay cut to be back with the Lions, but Detroit elected to take the cap relief. Reports have since indicated that the Lions have no intention of re-signing Burleson at a reduced rate.Dave Birkett mentioned that the Cowboys will likely be a popular speculative option for Burleson, but he also mentioned the Buccaneers as another team to watch.Last year, totaled 39 receptions for 461 yards receiving and one touchdown over the course of nine games for the Lions. http://network.yardbarker.com/nfl/article_external/nate_burleson_has_already_been_in_contact_with_a_few_nfl_teams/15782255?linksrc ="story_sport_nfl_module_image_15782255"
We need receivers badly, and I'm sure Burlson is an upgrade over Underwood. I'd take a look if he's cheap. I forgot he missed at least half the season with that pizza incident.
He's much better than his stat line last year. He'd be a fantastic #3
Meh
Better than Owusu and Underwood , but we could do better on the FA market .
At the right price....yes
He'll likely follow his old OC (Lineham) to Dallas, but yeah, definitely we should be interested.
As mentioned above, the key thing would be his asking price. Obviously he'd like the perception to be that his phone is ringing off the hook to drive prices up but realistically I think there'll be a short list for his services.

Agreed.
One of the best #3 receivers we could probably get imo
He is just the kind of guy we should go after. Nate plus a guy from the draft and our WR core just got a lot better.
Nice player, but getting up there in age. I think the best he will do, is a 1 year, low ball offer. And if it pans out that way, he would be better off taking the 1 year deal with a contender. He could possibly get a ring out of the deal. Not here though.
Shades of "third and ike?"
It would be a pleasant change and upgrade - imagine a third receiver who can both run the right pattern and catch the ball - mind boggling
No to burleson because then we wouldn't draft Watkins! Or would we?! ;)
