I'm early on the mock drafting. Perk of being a Bucs fan in november..

1 - DE Clelin Ferrel

To me, Clelin Ferrel is the best DE this year, not Bosa. A combination of Ferrel and JPP, with Nassib in rotation would be nice. Sign a free agent to replace McCoy at DT to pair with a more experienced Vea.

2 - QB Will Grier - West Virginia

Most projections have Grier as an early second rounder. I believe when all is said and done, Grier could be the first QB taken in the draft. Somewhere in the top 5 (Giants, Bucs, Jaguars). I felt the same about Mayfield last year when he was still talked about as a third round prospect around this time of the season. Grier is a gamer, and not a turnover machine. I'd feel more confident with him, even if we pay the first round price for him, then rolling with Winston and expecting a miracle. I'm sure a new regime would consider the same. One factor that may play into a draft day slide for Grier is his suspension while at Florida for PEDs. It won't prevent a team that falls in love with him from pulling the trigger, but it could add to any existing doubts that may exist or arise between now and next summer.

3 - RB David Montgomery - Iowa State

Built similarly to Doug Martin, Montgomery packs a punch but has big play ability as well, including in the pass game where he averaged nearly 10 yards per reception on roughly 50 balls between his freshman and sophomore seasons. His career average as a rusher is in the 4.5 area. Montgomery could be a true bellcow, three down back for the Bucs, making for a bruising one-two punch along with Peyton Barber, similar to what the Giants had in Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw during one of their Super Bowl runs a few years ago.
