Probably premature to look at new faces at this position since there will probably be more before the season begins. The hope is that Ronald Jones II becomes the "new face" since he was scarcely seen last season and has apparently shown up in camp looking quite different this year. A healthy motivated Jones could certainly add splash to what has to be the least exciting running game in the league. The other "new face" at the position is an old familiar face to the new coaching staff, Andre Ellington who spent 5 years with Arians and Co. in Arizona and sat out last season along with most of them. Ellington started off with a bang as a rookie with over 1,000 yards from scrimmage as a tough 3rd down back, but injuries crippled him from there and he was supplanted by David Johnson within a few seasons. His main job description now is likely mentoring Jones. If he can impart his experience and attitude on a younger healthier version of himself, the club can have a nicely ground game. But look for at least one more new face, and possibly two, to be added to the mix in the coming months. Ellington, for the short term, takes the spot of Jacquizz Rodgers who's production and efficiency steadily declined through 3 seasons with the Bucs.
Undrafted free agent Bruce Anderson from North Dakota State is also in camp, an average athlete with average college production who could stick simply through lack of competition, but the likelyhood is that the 3rd and 4th running backs are not on the team at the moment. Stay tuned.
