Looking forward to seeing how offenses adjust to us when they know they cannot run up the middle 1st and 2nd down.  Vita Vea and our newest piece of the wall Desmond Watson.  NO ROOM TO RUN INSIDE!  Cannot wait to see what Desmond is like after Our staff work with him and get his weight down; super excited to see these two men play next to each other.

Lets Gooooooooo!

I love the excitement. But Desmond doesn’t make this team. Maybe practice squad.

He should make the practice squad.  He has a lot of work to do in the weight room and the training table to lose weight and build stamina.  He will have to show progress in training camp, but if he tries to get it all accomplished quickly in the dog days of Summer in Tampa he'll end up getting injured or having a serious medical episode.

Yeah love the excitement about the Bucs but you should know it’s unusual for an UNDRAFTED FREE AGENT to make a team. Light is good about finding these guys so sometimes we’ll have one a season that sticks. Chris Izien comes to mind.

I don't know. Stopping the Tush Push is probably priority number one on defense. This cat makes the team, no problem.

we could make him active for the Home Eagles game then back to the practice squad after that

@rhbucsfan - if he can’t play with a lower pad level, he won’t be able to help in the run game or the tush push.

You couldn't be more right.  If you have a guy whos a short yardage specialist he'll be well worth the roster spot.  But apparently the guy has a problem controling his weight.  He'll have access to the best dieticians and the best training staff and mentors like Vita Vea, but as they say you can lead a horse to water....  He couldn't do it in college, so forgive me if I'm dubious about him being able to do it in the pros.  I know it's a hard thing to do, but it's his chance to do something with his life and you'd think that would be enough motivation.  We'll see.

What other NT's are on this 90 man squad besides Gaines who isn't good himself?

This team just hasn't drafted NT's and is in a horrible position if 30 year old Vea gets injured because they need a space eater to allow the allow the Kancey combination to work at it's best.

Not saying Watson is the answer but at least they finally have a younger NT prospect on the roster to develop. This was a deep NT draft and they ignored the position again. Let's pray this kid works out. If he went on the practice squad I'm fairly sure another team snaps him up.

Watson said on NFL Network that as of his last weigh-in, he’s down 27 pounds from that eye-popping 464-pound number he put on the scale at Florida’s Pro Day.

“I weighed 437 late last week,” Watson said. “That’s the journey I’ve got to take to be successful. It’s good for clicks to be the biggest player ever, but to be successful I have to lose some weight. I’m changing habits and things like that to get there.”

Watson said he’s not done losing weight and getting into better shape.

“I have a long journey to go. Even though I’ve made good progress so far, I’ve got a long journey to go,” Watson said. “I think I move pretty well for my size, and I might not have to get down to the average D-tackle.”

Hmm.  I guess Licht does have Tush Push on his mind .... “We just signed a very large defensive tackle from the University of Florida – those two (Vea and Watson) would be a heckuva tandem to do something like that,” Licht said on the Rich Eisen Show when discussing the Eagles’ success at running the “Tush Push” play.

Apparently the Tush Push is not just a joke to the Bucs!
