Now that we got Canales' personal history out of the way...
I'm not sure what to read into this, but when Coen was introduced to the media press conference, Bowles left the stage and just walked by Coen at least 5-6 ft away with no eye contact, no handshake, no fist bump, no nothing. One would think that the HC would do more to acknowledge his new OC in front of the media for the first time.
Canales, he wrote a book with his wife chronicling some problems before they went into counseling. He's bitter, but not better, yet. Coen having success with Ballerz may help with that.Wow almost like he spent more time actually studying players and not cheating on his wife and doing drugs.
SMH that was a low blow dude.
Who is he talking about here?
Makes sense. Kupp is a beast after the catch and the Rams do a good job getting him space to create. Godwin would thrive in that role for sure.
Didn’t want your question to get lost in the drama-sauce these threads turn into sometimes.
Typically lurk, but usually start poking my whiskers in around draft time…
just when I think I can get out, Baker & the draft pull me back in…
It took time to develop Godwin into who he is today - it also took a commitment from Godwin to want to develop the WR2 interior game. He had the frame, and it made him better. He doesn’t have a lot speed, but it’s adequate. He also runs good routes, which sets him apart. Not sure he could flourish as WR1, but if anyone can, Godwin can…for awhile.
Palmer isn’t there yet, too much inconsistency, not a great frame, but he has great speed. Dave Moore looks like he could become that underneath guy too, but he needs more time the way Arians used Godwin early-on. Not sure he is a long term answer.
its a deep draft for WR’s, so I’m hedging we land a take-the-top off the defense guy that will make use of what Mike & Chris do MOST games…occupy defenders and opening up some shots downfield. No one in the league is as smart as ME at getting open when it counts. JL’s gotta figure a way to sign Mike Evans.
True but in order to Move Godwin close to the line of scrimmage you have to put someone on the other side with speed to stretch out and soften up the defense. Just the threat of ME on one side and Gwin nearish the LOS with speed like Palmer on the other side- even with just 1 year under he's belt- it has to be at least accounted for. 2 possible deep threats running vertically, Chris near the LOS to either catch or block, and R white ready to catch or block on any given play. Its seems to me having to "cover all that ground," the threat of it, its gotta be though "Thematically" for a DC to plan for. Each one of our stars, luckily have a unique characteristic that fits them like a glove. ME is Big Plays, Palmer is new BUT Fast- Throw him 2 bombs a game and if he catches even just ONE, that's enough. Chris is just Chris- Give the ball and let him run angri- or let him block angri. White is part slasher, part pass catcher, part 1st and 2nd down runner and 3rd down passer= Yeah, a classic three down back if he can learn to Block Better. Then Baker sits back and picks which poison. Does he throw the bomb to Palmer this down- whats the down and distance, enemy 40 line and its first down=bomb to Palmer. Down and distance our own 10 yard line-sucky Field position- Mike Evans knows a guy that can help get you some chunk yardage. Then the Middle of the field is a free for all, all options on the table and selection to the new OC and Baker who then decides based on the defense they are presented with, and what the correct play is, sometimes the correct play is to throw the ball away, someone with high situational IQ is kinda a prerequisite.
Even a simpleton like me that still, even still, doesn't really know X's and O's are, even something as simpleton as the real difference is between 4 guys lined up with their hands in the dirt vs 3 guys with their hands in the dirt and the 4th one sorta standing. Is that it, is that really the difference between a 3-4 and 4-defense, pls say no, that would be far to anticlimactic. Anyhoo, even a simpleton like yoUrs TrulI knows I wouldn't want to defend that.

During the Lions and Iggles game day thread I "chanted" GW!!!!4 >>>> Moah COWBELL!!!!
Over and over again. He jUst needs about 3-4 more touches a game to become a household name.

That all works if you have better line play up front… or if you can take advantage of some movement by Baker then get a stud corner that could also be used in pressure packages!
Adding another RB with the ability to get outside (and maybe even catch passes), would certainly help.
like the way you think, as long as we re-sign Baker.
Re-signing Ballerz AND Mike resets the whole board!

Agreed, but to be fair, Canales wrote the book WITH his wife, about the changes he made to stop the stupidity. The infedelity happened before his wedding, has been a changed man ever since.
The previous poster who brought this up seemed bitter, he’s not better, yet.

Yeah, we need better blockers and better play makers at corner and "MLB" and we can be setting a nice foundation indeed. Draft is coming up. I am a draft idiot, I don't follow college at all until draft time to "learn" the prospects.
Need better interior OL, need a better 2 way TE, another boundary WR and another RB to pair with White and the Bucs offense is good to go for Coen.
Yo edmonds can be pretty good nd I bet you Palmer is gonna turn some heads next year on the boundaries, the kid is fast me his hands have been pretty freaking clutch. That’s the special part, there are a lot of fast WR’s, most of them suck at catching, Palmer And/or Thompkins who is also fast and can catch. We got some young blood there that needs more opportunity to prove it. One of them too will make a fine deep threat to pair with ME, especially if Gwin is in the middle…Even I can probably draw up some plays with my crayons. 2 go deep, one go medium, throw it to which one is open…or dump it off/hand it off to White, or throw it away if a free runner is in ur face. Simple no? That could be the basis of the offense, just make it quick tempo, add a few wrinkles- bootleags, screens, a fake punt once a year even. It’s not hard to know that ME will usually come down with a nicely thrown Jump ball whether he’s double or not, same with Chris and both can run a bit after the catch. The tricky part is Ballerz has to decide in real time who gets the potatoe? Learning that is an ongoing process that lasts until ur last snap, beauty in the struggle and all that.

Then good for him, now he has to never ever ever ever…slip again, easy.
