Madden's early prediction - Bucs win 17-0, on a four minute quarters game!
Well, Madden simulations should be fun this year!
Tom Brady threw for over a hundred yards, two Td's and no Ints. Saints D was only good enough to prevent quick strike Td's. If this was with 67 rated Winston, it would have been Winstan standing around for ten seconds till he got sacked, or he'd throw the ball into the ground somewhere. Against any other D, Tom Brady probably could have hit some quick strike Td's.
Also, the Run game; Bucs looked like they could have just ran the ball if they chose to.
So, the Bucs O looks real good. And, the Bucs D looked great as well!
The saints tried to pass early; but, the Madden Drew Brees found that their Wr's couldn't get deep on the tall fast Bucs corners, so he'd try to go short, where the linebackers finished off most short passes.
Then, in the second half, they tried to go with the Run. They got one run off, then the Bucs run-D showed up in some great run stuffs.
Madden doesn't generally allow much pass rush; but, finally, one pass rush from Shaw Barrett allowed Sean Murphy Bunting to make a play on the ball.
- The Saints were lucky to get one drive going. A De should have gotten in there; he got chop blocked, and was way slow to get up, giving Brees like ten seconds for something to open up deep.
- Do I expect something similar in the real game? Well, I expect better passrush. A lot of people expect the Saints to have better chemistry. Well, we'll see.
