The New York area has nine major professional sports teams. The last championship they won was January 2012 when the Giants won the Superbowl. That means lets see 9 teams x 9 years + 3 hockey and 2 NBA in 2021. That adds up to 86 doesn't it?
86 failures in a row. That is almost too many to wrap your mind around. And to make matters worse their defeat seems to come from Tampa Bay now and then, such as two straight defeats of the Islanders and the Rays knocked out the Yankees. Its just sad what's happening up there.
However, Tampa Bay has three sports teams and three championships and three boat parades. In fact we are known as "Champa Bay". New York likes their ticker tape parades, but no sports teams will bring them a championship. Its really a pity they can't have a ticker tape parade. I'm sorry, New York, that you are losers. You have the money. You have the media. But no champions in 86 tries.
Maybe throwing beer cans on the ice would be good luck? Maybe throwing at Brosseau's head would get you over the hump? No I guess not. Well keep trying, guys. Good luck! 86 seasons......
