With the bye week just looking at the rest of the NFL and the perils of being a coach
Robert Saleh Fired
for holding back Rofgers? Not so much lol
Dennis Allen fired
7 game losing streak
OC Waldron fired from the Bears!
Unlike Canales, doesnt adapt offense to help rookie QB
Eberflus cannot be far behind (4 wins)
Entire Raiders Offensive staff? (2 wins)
One of the lowest scoring teams in the NFL
NEXT UP FOR EXECUTION?
Daboll of the Giants with 2 wins
Pederson with 2 wins?
many of those teams have a bit of a history of losing and have bad losing this year
Not sure Bowles fits that group but he is on hot seat lists
Pederson almost a guarantee
Would think Daboll would be another almost certainty.
Believe McCarthy's contract expires at the end of the season. Hard to imagine the Cowboys bringing him back. They will "mutually agree" to part ways
A surprise move i see would be the Eagles potentially with Sirianni. His contract is up at the conclusion of the 2025 season and if the Eagles have another 1 and done playoff run, could see the Eagles moving on in the offseason despite a 11-12 win season. If he wins a playoff game, then yeah i see him returning, but this is one to watch.
So that's 6 openings with Jets and Saints already opened.
The Patriots, Panthers, Titans, and Raiders all bought on new coaches last year. Don't think any of them are deserving of a 1 year exit given the expectations. Other new coaches are with the Chargers, Commanders, Seahawks, and Falcons whom are all performing satisfactory.
Summary below:
NO DOUBT SAFE AFC (10) - Miami, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Houston, Patriots, Raiders, Titans, Chargers, Chiefs, Denver
NO DOUBT OPENINGS AFC (2) - Jets, Jaguars
I THINK SAFE AFC BUT COULD SEE IT (4) - Buffalo, Cincy, Cleveland, Indy
- Buffalo looking good but another playoff loss to Chiefs and anything is possible with Sean McDermott. I think they keep him but much like Dungy versus the Eagles, their could be fatigue that sets in
- Cincy extended Taylors contract through the 2026 season. Imagine ownership is disappointed here but think he likely stays. Could see them moving on if a playoff miss though
- I do wonder how Cleveland ownership feels about Stefanski and the Watson situation. Just seems like a dumpster fire. I think they just gave him a contract extension in the summer.
- Not a good look for Steichen with Richardson progression. Steichen did sign a 6 year contract back in 2023 so not sure about this one. Will say its entire possible.
NO DOUBT SAFE NFC (10) - Commanders, Detroit, Vikings, Green Bay, Atlanta, Carolina, 49ers, Seahawks, Rams, Arizona
NO DOUBT OPENINGS NFC (3) - Cowboys, Giants, Saints
I THINK SAFE NFC BUT COULD SEE IT (3) - Eagles, Bucs, Chicago
-Eagles for reasons stated above, could see them moving on from Nick S if one and done in playoffs
- Bowles has 2 years left on contract. Think they chalk up this year to dead money and injuries, but if Bill B presents himself or a last ditch effort to keep Coen, might happen, particularly with bottom 5 defense.
- Bears Eberfulus has 2 years left. Firing of the offensive coordinator has his seat warm for sure. Not sure the expectations were playoffs in Williams first season but could see this going either way.
As much as I hate saying it, if the Bucs finish the season 6-1 Bowles will be retained. The Bucs should be favored in 6 of their remaining 7 games.

he may get extended if they finish 6-1. but you are living in an optimistic fantasy world. I agree they will be favored in 6 out of the 7 games but i see them easily losing one of the Panthers game, most certainly the Saints game to end the year, and dropping at least one of their non division games - NYG, LVR, LAC, DAL.
I'm suggesting an 8-9 record to be relatively consistent with what they've mustered up the last 2 years.
in that scenario, i still see Bowles keeping his job. It might take a 6-11 effort for them to pull the plug.
the Bucs finish the season 6-1
because of injury the Bucs have a lesser team than last season but maybe an easier closing schedule? not sure, but either way going 6-1 is pretty tough
Coen will be here next year.
Bowles won’t.
Dungy was fired after three straight winning seasons by the Glazers and the GM was forced to hire someone who eventually would bring about his departure. As much as I hate saying it, if the Bucs finish the season 6-1 Bowles will be retained. The Bucs should be favored in 6 of their remaining 7 games.
It has to do with expectations for 2025 and the direction things are going. If Bowles doesn't make the playoffs the Glazers will once again step in and demand a change, thereby relieving Licht of the responsibility for firing his freind. They will go for a high profile guy to generate fan interest, but I certainly don't think that will result in the eventual departure of Licht like it did with McKay. I mean for chrise sake there were literally more Niners fans than Bucs fans. That's not good.
Bowles retires, Coen steps up

Meh. If the stadium is full, I don't think the Glazers care which side they are cheering for.
No doubt they are all about making money however they can, but I think tickets are maybe 15-16% but all in probably 25%+ with parking concession local stuff etc
its better to have a good team, especially in a smaller market
Bowles retires, Coen steps up
todd is only 60 years old. Shit my man can’t even collect social security yet haha
can’t imagine he walks away so soon. I’m sure he loves the sport.

Just a wild guess
In pure football world yes I would think he stays on under most circumstances this season depending on how the season plays out and Coen
Coen on the list
”
Quarterback Baker Mayfield is playing the best football of his career for the first-year Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator. They hit it off so well together with the Rams in 2022 that Mayfield personally helped recruit Coen to the Bucs last offseason, which speaks to the OC’s ability to connect with his players.
Coen, 39, bounced around the New England college coaching circuit before [Sean] McVay hired him in 2018. He had two one-year stints as Kentucky’s offensive coordinator (2021, 2023) that bookended his season as McVay’s OC. Now a full-time play caller for the first time in the NFL, Coen has impressed those around the league with his creativity and feel for the game while designing plays with a purpose. Tampa’s offense is fifth in the NFL right now, putting up 27 points per game.
Coen is inexperienced on the interview circuit, so he might be at least a year away from a head coaching offer. But he should garner interview requests, particularly after Dave Canales turned his one season with the Bucs into the Carolina Panthers’ top job — and the Bucs offense has been better in 2024.
