Sean McDermott on the 4th down decision where Josh Allen scored, to keep the pressure on Kansas City. “They’re just way too good to not go for it there.”
Must be nice...
The Hawks beat the 49ers in Santa Clara.
Seahawks receivers had about 200 yds and made the explosive plays on the TD drives.
Our receivers had about 25 yards against the 49ers and no explosives.
and we still almost won

daily dose of copium?
lol
How would we know that wasn’t Coen’s call?Bills will hand the Chiefs their first loss.
And, you can 1000% give credit to McDermott for this win.
Wasn't coaching scared. Called that like a dude with a pair.
All the Bowles' supporters should take notes.
This isn’t a serious question, is it?
Agreed, but we did score a TD (Falcons didn’t), and our injury depleted defense held the Broncos to 26 points.Falcons new head coach just got blown out by the Broncos.NOLA now 2-0 after firing their HC.
I don’t think our Bucs haven’t been blown out by anyone this season, right?
I’d call the loss to Denver a blowout. It was a three-score game that Denver dominated from the start.
It’s quibbling, but being beaten by Sean Payton by 21 is a bit different than giving up 32 points.
Sure, the Falcons were blown out worse, but the Buccaneers were still blown out. I think most would agree that three-scores is a blowout.
Also, the Falcons are 2-0 against Tampa. So I’m not sure what your point is exactly.
The Seahawks are a team on about the same level as the Bucs. Both had close games against the Niners. They won. We didn't. Finding a way to win is something Bowles hasn't been able to do.The Hawks beat the 49ers in Santa Clara.

Finding a way to win is something Bowles hasn't been able to do.
But, we were really, really, really, really, really close.
And, that's what counts...
...to the Bowles' faithful.

True but the Seahawks win with a late drive that features Metcalf and JSN, their two receivers.
or, just that they haven't put anything into the position

Britt - 5th round

The state of the LB position is one of the biggest reason some would say the Bucs are focused on finances over players, still. But, as some have said here we passed on an LB in the draft when we took a WR, so yes to your point I doubt Bowles was pounding on the table. Licht seems to be a good partner for HCs.
Tampa definitely hasn't invested in the positional room much over the past several years...outside of a greedy shitbag prima-donna, and of course Braswell this year. With Tampa having 7 mil in cap space I would have liked to have seem some kind of trade to bring someone in to compete with what we've got currently, but I also know that Licht doesn't like parting with draft capital.
The finances part you mentioned, Tampa is in a tough spot because there's still just a hair under 60 million in dead cap on the books this year, but thankfully that number drops to a more manageable 30 mil next year between Shaq, Jensen, and now Carmada....also there's that 19 mil dead cap hit if Godwin isn't re-signed....other good news is a lot of funds could be freed up if necessary to add to the 30 mil in cap we already have next year.. As it pertains to Edge Rushers next year the biggest one I see is Chase Young, and you know his asking price will be ridiculous based off "name recognition" especially given his production....
My point is, as I said: even though we have been beaten, we’ve been in every game. Only one that could be characterized that - but against similar competition - we fared better. How would we know that wasn’t Coen’s call?Bills will hand the Chiefs their first loss.

Pretty good coaching of lesser talent.
Pretty good coaching of lesser talent.
No one had us down for a win against the Chiefs before the season. During the season their stock went up and ours down because of injuries.
we almost won
we almost beat the 49ers with no WRs
it takes good coaching to get the team that close. Many teams fold it up. The Saints quit on their HC

Should be an interesting 7 games.
The Bills had been in similar situations vs KC during the past several seasons. They knew what they had to do in order to win the game. Kick a FG? Up 5 and Mahomes & Co likely waltz down the field and score a winning TD. Get a first down and keep milking the clock? The right decision, and your superstar QB not only moves the chains, but scores the clinching TD. The lesson is you play to win, not finish a close second. There are only 17 opportunities to win during a season; each and every game is important to win.

Totally agree. I doubt anyone disagrees, in fact . .. especially Herm Edwards!
This issue mostly becomes a somewhat hilarious topic for debate, here and elsewhere, because the pivotal coaching choice is most often raised as result-oriented hindsight.
Blitzing is a great example. Bowles is celebrated when it works, vilified when it does not lol.
Lots of examples, but look at the SanFran game thread you'll see fans freaking out because a zone blitz left Braswell (I think) covering CMC, a total mismatch that gave them the 1st down. While those angry post are going up . . . literally . . we get a key sack with a blitz. The posts are only about the failure of a risky call. ie "BOWLES IS BAD!!
Going further back . . Bowles' blitz is the "reason" we lost to the Rams, not the fact that that we couldn't score a TD until the 4th quarter. If it gets home and ends the game, he's a swashbuckling genius! lol, kidding, but you get the point. Its a one way street for many, not all
Some times it is just confirmation bias. "Bowles is conservative" SO all things conservative are bad, when they are not. Going back a bit, posters here were claiming that Bowles was making Canales run so much and that was really bad because "its a passing league." This season we are running SUCCESSFULLY, so . . .
Much more recent though, in the Chiefs game, multiple posters cry out when we punt the ball late. It is 100% the right call. Mayfield takes a bad sack and we dont convert a pass so we are 4th and 16 at our own 25, I think. I think here is 2:40 left. It's the RIGHT play, but it is not "playing to win" to some and that is Bowles primary SIN. Anyway, we punt. The defense makes a stop. We get the ball back BEFORE the 2 minute warning and score a TD lol.
No one is posting that Bowles made the Right CONSERVATIVE play call lol
(Message boards takes can get a little silly because some of the arguments are so unreasonable. In fact, the trolls flip reality around by putting people into buckets to dismiss their point. So, for any reasonable person this season's failing are part Bowles and part injuries and roster. That is actual reality to any honest person, the debate would only be about the relative impact of those factors. Trolls want it to be all Bowles though, so anyone who raises the other factors is a "Bowles leg humper." LMAO In troll world UNREASONABLE is right and REALITY is wrong . . . . because thats what serves the troll best)
Tommy DeVito! He might be a slight upgrade over Danny... DeVito. Sweet Jeebus if we lose to the Giants we should fire Bowles before he can get to the podium for his press conference and we have to hear the same stuff again. "We just have to make more plays.... " or some such thing.

DeVito has a better rhythm to run the offense so the Bucs should not underestimate the Giants. Daboll can open up his play book with DeVito too which is where the Giants may be able to throw in wrinkles to surprise the Bucs defense.
