Is Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Mike Glennon the least-athletic QB in the NFL?By Michael JaycoxQuarterback remains the most-important position in all of sports, but that doesn’t mean it’s not evolving. In fact, the past 10 years have seen a drastic shift in the way success is defined behind center. No longer are quarterbacks asked to simply stand in the pocket and deliver passes to receiver. More and more, they are becoming dynamic, two-way threats, players who can torment opposing defenses through the air and on the ground. And instead of appearing to be a fad, such as when Randall Cunningham burst onto the scene in the 1980s, this transformation seems to be here to stay. In part, that’s because college quarterbacks aren’t being school as classic drop-back passers anymore. But it’s also because non-traditional QBs are finding success, winning titles in the NFL.With that as a backdrop, the 32 current starters in the NFL were evaluated based on the second dimension they bring to the field – mobility. The result made for an interesting list. Not well. When the list was revealed, Mike Glennon came in at No. 28. Here’s what writer Dean Gomes said about the signal caller:“It’s hard to think of a single time when Glennon needed to buy time or make a play with his feet and he was able to do it. Typically, any decent pass rush causes him to rush his throw, completely breaking down the play.”Well, to be fair, Glennon isn’t good at much of anything. Luckily for Bucs fans, though, Jameis Winston should soon be flying in to save the day. And though his 40-yard-dash time isn’t all that impressive, he’s got the type of mobility we’ve enjoyed watching in Big Ben for years.link
