Ha! I was close! They let him get back to CHI-town

Dude was toast at the end of the year before Thursday’s game. That last thirty seconds just hastened the inevitable.

JPJ coughed up the game for the Raiders.
Andy Reid may be the smartest coach of his generation and he made a 3rd down call that should’ve cost his team the game.

I actually don’t mind the play call there.
They got exactly what they wanted. One on one matchup and the receiver had the db handily beat. Mahomes simply missed.
Mathematically and situationally it is the wrong call. Full stop.
Theres definitely an aggression bias is so-called analytics but if you look just within the game stats there are multiple higher probability options that accomplish the purpose in that situation.
If you watch Reid after the play fails, he knows it.

It actually was. Nobody on offense was ready for the snap, including the RG that tapped him. The offense wasn’t set yet. The TE is moving guys off of the LOS. That’s why the penalty was Illegal Shift. The Center can’t snap the ball there. To JPJ’s credit, he manned-up and owned it. Mad respect for that.

Agreed. They went for the win. Turned out they needed to, because the Raiders drove down the field for the winning field goal - if not for Center snapping it early.

That is EXACTLY backwards, right? The Chiefs with the lead, field position, and the clock and 3rd down conversion advantage NEEDED to throw a deep ball to Worthy because . . . of what happened AS A RESULT of that choice?
"The Chiefs' success rate when targeting Worthy is 41%, compared to 65% and 62% when targeting Hopkins and Travis Kelce, respectively. Worthy and Isiah Pacheco (who played 2 games) are the only players with a negative WPA (win probability added) when targeted. His EPA (expected points added) is -3.27, essentially taking a field goal off the board."
The Chiefs are the number 1 third down conversion team in the league, right?
Its 3rd and 2 with 2:09 left and, I think, the Raiders either have one TO left or no TOs left. The Chiefs just ran for 5 yards and then 3 yards. They are on the Raider 44. If they convert the 3rd down the game is over?
and . . of course .. . there's THIS
Reid was asked about it after the game, so theres probably a reason for that :-)
this was pretty good by Reid though
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a bold change late in the Week 13 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. Reid immediately addressed the decision to bench starting left tackle Wanya Morris during his postgame press conference.
"So Wanya (Morris) he was struggling a little bit, so put Joe (Thuney) over there, (Mike) Caliendo in at guard. That was the right thing to do at that time," Reid explained. "(I) talked to Andy (Heck) about it. He agreed with it, and so we made that move and just solidify things. Pat (Mahomes) took a few hits there, and so we were struggling at times."

This isn't debatable. The QB literally took full responsibility.
QB clapped... That's the signal for the guard to tap the center to hike the ball. It's verified with multiple people on offense.
It ignores the fact also that refs called a false start then switched it to illegal motion to seal the Chiefs win.
I'm not a "rigged" person but the image of the NFL and protecting the Chiefs is getting out of control. Countless yard shaving spots in the game - Chiefs always an extra yard and Raiders always a yard or 2 short.
But either way... That wasn't on JPJ. Not debatable, sorry.
