I keep hearing that the hit was legal and there was no pass interference but I haven't heard whether a penalty should have been called due to a 'pick'?I guess I'm just 'all broke up' over Aqib's injury.. :P http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/01/22/wes-welker-hit-legal/4785449/

It's obviously legal the only reason people thought it wasn't is because of the B.S an emotional Bill Billicheat said an entire day later. The patriots ran the exact same play and Rogers-Cromartie had to leave the field. When you run a pick route you anticipate the defensive back seeing you and making some effort to go around you. That isn't always the case, Talib never saw Welker and ran into him full speed. Welker saw Talib and curled up into a fetal position to brace for impact.Bill is bitter because he's realizing that he can't do it without spying. Skip Bayless, who also said it was a dirty play and even insinuated Welker took out Talibs knee is just a patriot fan and an idiot. Both of those guys caused this stir about nothing because they are sore losers. They should be made to retract those baseless incendiary statements.

When I look at the replay I think welker hits talib before the ball gets to thomas. Its close but I think he's a little early and talib is what the nfl considers defenseless. That rule doesn't apply to defense I dont think but I do think it should have been offensive pi.

It's an ambush play... and shows the inequity of the "safety" aspect of rules that are supposedly made to protect players.

It's football man you are taught from pee wee to the NFl to keep your head on a swivel. Talib could have avoided the hit. Plus its not like it was a crushing hit I mean come on it's Wes Welker hitting you.

It never looked intentional in the first place.Watching the replay, it looks as if both of them never saw the other and were looking at the qb.I mean, IF it was intentional, why would you use that player, why not a fb, scrub wideout, or te? Welker would be the last guy I would use if I were to call a dirty play.

You just don't risk losing welker for the game. Not to mention, it's never a sure thing that you injure the the intended target. If you're going dirty like that, you find the worst, fattest wideout on your roster, and put his fatass to use. Even if it's to "carl malone" the guy(picnroll).

That's the way that play is supposed to work. The Pats use that play too.Bellicheat is just airing personal differences he has with Welker not related to this particular play.Talib is soft.
