He's the the third best rookie.
I know you are a ducks fan, but is that accurate or just your opinion? Genuinely curious. I know he had some blips, but overall he seemed pretty great?
Bandabing has the same ranking as me.
Bucky
McMillan
Barton
Smith
All good picks all good players. Barton's issues were less about quantity and more about time. Inversely Bucky and McMillan were great come clutch time (sans Bucky fumble vs Atlanta)
We’re witnessing a generational LT in his prime. Are you guys pretending to be this stupid?
Who are you taking at...? Nobody here doesn't think Wirfs is a great player.
What's your next steaming hot take? Josh Allen is a good QB?
Irving snubbed
The AP announced their nominees for their major awards, which will be revealed at the NFL Honors ceremony before the Super Bowl. There are quite a few strong names for OROY — Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, Denver Broncos QB Bo Nix and Jacksonville Jaguars WR Brian Thomas Jr.
There's one big name missing, though, and it's Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving. The fact that he isn't even nominated is quite strange.
I think DH has said the same thing as Wirfs multiple times:
“I don’t know,” Wirfs answered Meirov of David getting stiffed annually for honors and awards. “You talk about greats — [David] is criminally underrated and criminally under-recognized for what he’s done and been doing for a long time.
“It’s a shame, it is. “Lavonte is an incredible human being, an incredible football player. He has been doing it for 13 seasons now. But I don’t know why. I don’t know if it’s because of a small market. It can’t be that small of a market, it’s Tampa.
“I don’t know what it is but Lavonte David is gonna have a gold jacket one day.”
that would be awesome!

Correct.
He's getting in.
Brady effect at work (which shouldn't even need to be the case).
David deserves to be in but I fear he misses it... Time will tell.
Cautionary tale is London Fletcher. He is #2 in all time tackles (David is #8). He had 11 tackles in a Superbowl win. He was in four Probowls. He played 16 years and missed one game. He started 240 games, 215 consecutive. David has 198 and counting and has missed a couple games. Fletcher had over 500 tackles from age 35 on. He had 39 career sacks. David stands at 39 right now. Fletcher still might make it in the Hall, but hasn't even been a finalist. He was an iron man with a Superbowl ring and #2 all time in tackles. More qualified in those respects than David.David deserves to be in but I fear he misses it... Time will tell. t
Do not fret, my friend.
Tough cautionary tale
some of it for Fletcher is just the way his career played out. For example, he’s on the Rams SB team as a pretty young player and they are “greatest show on turf” so an MLB is not really the focus.
and his PBs are late, as part of a mostly awful Redskins team
I am not sure if that adds to the comparison or distinguishes it lol
David has been under the radar as on the national level as well. Just as Fletcher was playing during the "greatest show on turf", the Bucs had a couple guys named Brady and Gronk getting all the attention. David was never the flashy player, and that will work against him. I'm not trying to be Negative Nelly, just looking at the reality.Tough cautionary tale

But another Superbowl in 2025 would certainly be a big boost to his chances. His career isn't over yet, so we'll see what happens.
Cautionary tale...
You saying he won't get in, pretty much locked him up for Canton.
Thanks, kiddo.
