I get it. The Bucs are 2-4. Worse, they've showed plenty of huge gaping holes and soft play in the secondary, the offensive line hasn't protected, QB play has been all over the place. A lot hasn't gone right this season.

But I'm a lifelong Bucs fan. As much as the perpetual, getting psyched for the season only to be begrudgingly, pissing away my Sundays by October pisses me off, as much as I hate it, it's pretty much become a part of being a Bucs fan. I've had my chances to jump ship and I'm sure I'd be a much happier person, but here I am still watching the Bucs play on Sundays every single week. This love/hate, push/pull is as much a part of being a Bucs fan as fireworks are a part of the 4th of July. I'm a glutton for punishment.... You have to be to be a Bucs fan.

So here I sit at another crossroad. This appears to be about the right place to jump ship. Things are dark, there doesn't appear to be to much to be optimistic about. Perhaps the Bucs can manage to beat the Titans on Sunday..... Yippie, next stop Seattle. Even the most optimistic Bucs fan can't see a likely path to 10 wins at this point. Having seen this show before, many of us are prepared for the much more likely collapse to come.

Having said all that I'm brought back to my reality.... I'm a Bucs fan. I'm a glutton for punishment. I'm not throwing in the towel on this team and I'm not throwing in the towel on Winston. I'm convincing myself that I can see a path. A victory on Sunday and maybe stealing (somehow) one of the next two, building a little momentum going into the easiest stretch of games for almost anyone. I'm putting aside the fact that the Cardinals rookie QB will almost certainly shred our secondary, that the Colts are a damned good football team and that we have to start winning at home. I'm banking everything on the honest feeling that we may, should, could beat the lowly Falcons twice, and hoping that the rest will just fall in line. Like I said, I'm a Bucs fan.

So until Jameis shits the bed for the last time (he gets benched or plays his last game) I'm going to get all emotionally invested in the game each and every week. Bear in mind, I am willfully and intentionally ruining my entire weekend just because I can't let go, I know this, I hate this but I'm doing it anyway. Why you ask? Because I'm a Bucs fan. It's what I'm made for.
