The job might normally scare some off because the HC has short time on his contract BUT last two OCs have gone HC and there’s even a HC opportunity in house so..
who are the OC candidates out there who might see this a quick step to HC?
If Coen terns are anything like reported the Bucs had no chance against Jags desperation but the perception will also be that Licht and his team got worked a bit.
is there anyone out there who would make a real splash as an OC hire?
might they move on from Bowles now? That would almost be admitting they got worked lol

Not sure it hurts their perception at all really-they offered Coen a contract that would make him the highest paid OC in the league. I think candidates will see it as an organization doing right by one of their own.
You may be right. Coen definitely gave them the position of victim because he actually lied to them. Just read that in SR’s article
Also SR pointed out he cannot really take his offensive staff so doesn’t that make an in-house hire very likely?
Klint Kubiak is my choice
Still an attractive place to play. Its forget about coen time and on someone else. He can go have fun with everyone else that's enjoyed coaching that team.
Chip Kelly just put on a masterclass with OSU.
Problem with Chip Kelly is NFL players hated him

That's true but who knows... Maybe he's matured and learned to not tell black people to cut their hair?

I like his style of play calling but we will see.
Thaddeus Lewis has experience in Canales/Coen offense so he might be worth a look as a promotion.

Experience and ability aren't always the same
True but I believe he has been interviewed for an OC position and he has as working relationship with Mayfield.
They have to be thinking internal promotion first, right? Most here credit some of the offensive coaches for the running game etc
Not to mention continuity

They may have to... We're late to the party
