Forget if it was Kaufman or Reynolds but one of them referenced 2025 being an all-in year. I think this team needs a veteran play caller to win the Super Bowl. It was 20 vs 1 but I know I was on the right side of the argument, Coen was not calling effective games down the stretch of the season, including the playoffs. Part of it was inexperience. I know it was a long time ago but when McCarthy was a young OC I was impressed with him, think he was 5-3 vs Kiffin by running the ball down the Bucs throat.

That was your argument????
Was that before or after you argued that the next Emmitt Smith was being "iced" by Licht?
I think Thad Lewis has previously turned down OC interview requests, but then goes to one with Houston?
I know he has a personal connection to the HC there, but maybe also a sign that he is trying to force the Bucs hand?
Arians' influence waning?

My argument is that his run/pass ratios were out of whack based on the effectiveness of our running game and the bad run defenses we were playing. Sean Tucker being glued to the bench was part of that problem.

The Bucs need to look at other candidates over Thad. I hope he is able to get on with the Texans.

define down the stretch?
Giants win- 30 points
Panthers win- 26 points (includes 2 turnovers by the offense) - Bucky with 152 yards on the ground
Raiders win- 28 points (included 3 turnovers by the offense)
Chargers win- 40 points
Cowboys loss- 24 points - 2 turnovers by the offense in the 4th quarter. in both situations, our players were over powered by the defender
Panthers win -48 points
Saints win - 27 points
Washington loss - 20 points - Brutal turnover by the offense in the 4th quarter when we had the lead. Yes, Coen had some gafs particularly in the 4th quarter but ultimately it was the poor execution in the 4th that lose them this game
Coen called some good games.
I agree Tucker should have gotten more carries after his breakout against the Saints - BUT only at White's expense. Bucky is the guy

Sure
At Carolina we scored 20 points in regulation vs a team that finished #32 in yards per carry against and we were running the ball at will. Just some quick examples
Pass on 2nd and goal from the 4, led to a FG
Baker INT on 1st and 10
Sack on 2nd and 5 leads to a punt
Baker INT on 3rd and 1
Overtime 2nd and 6 at the Carolina 36 and he gets sacked out of FG range.
This game was masked because of the Nelson strip but this is when my alarm started going off on Coen.
I don't have time to go through it now but the Raiders game was actually worse. Just passing himself out of points.

Well by your logic this offense should be top 3 next year and the number one rushing team.
Let's see if you're right on actuality... Not the second guessing nature of fandom
Hard pass on chip kelly
Totally agree and I don't like him either. Starting to see the carousel of Coaches is shrinking out there when it comes to loyalty and integrity. We need one coach that will honor the fans honoring him and the ownership paying for the loyalty, honor and integrity.
you won’t find that with anyone worth a damn.
yeah if you want to make Thad Lewis OC than maybe you get your loyalty but you also likely get a bottom 12 offense with it
This is a business. Coen did what was best for him. Can’t let emotions make us make bad decisions.
When words are spoken and agreed upon then confirmation of taking the job then not being forthcoming with truth and integrating, then you've lesson your own integrity of your own character. That is what Coen had done. Sorry you don't get an eraser, a leopard doesn't change it's spot.

And, Emmitt Smith 2.0 will end up being the featured back in the "Every Down is a Run Down" offense.

We should be the top rushing team when you exclude QB rush yards yes. The line, Irving and Tucker are that good.
And I wasn't second guessing when I said we would lose to Dallas if Coen's run/pass ratio was off. Of course he was 71% pass vs the #30 run defense in YPC against. And before you start bitching about the score, he was 6 passes, 2 runs on the first drive, including being empty on 3rd and 3 in 4 down territory. Coen had no intention of ever leaning on this run game, he was always full of shit.
Kubiak is an experienced play caller who would have actually let this run game take over games. Missed our guy.
oen had no intention of ever leaning on this run game,
JC, former GM and mind reader
and have to love when you highlight your own flaw
before you start bitching about the score,
Just destroying the flaw in the argument that Bucs "had to throw". In the first qtr he was 9 passes, 2 runs and we scored 0 points. That was his game plan vs a garbage run defense.
