i'd hire zach robinson before any of these other candidates. Familiar with Mayfield and learned under McVay the past 5 years

he seems like the obvious outside candidate if Mayfield is back.
at this point who knows lol. They could fire Bowles

highly unlikely but the longer Bill Belichick sits out there, i've seen crazier things.
Seems like a few of these candidates have been fired recently. That's not encouraging. Ken Dorsey - fired. He couldn't make it work with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs? Not encouraging. Brian Johnson - fired midseason. Apparently it was too difficult to work with Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown. What a rough job. And Kellen Moore - fired. He had to scrape by with Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen. So yeah woo hoo how exciting! Not.
But OK I'm reasonable I realize this is the NFL and coaches come and go from various teams and things may work in one place and not another. Guys get injured, coaches get blamed for stuff that wasn't there fault. So I'm willing to listen to reason about these guys. But here we just lost an up and coming guy in Canales and we're interviewing the rejects from other teams. I'm just not all fired up about that right now.
We went through an up and down season and it was the players who got the team through it. The leadership of the veterans and the unexpected success of the rookies. They got us through some rough weeks moreso than the coaches did. We're going to need the players to do that again this year. I'm not saying the coaches are going to be horrible, but they're just human beings. The players have to buy in because they want to win, not because we have Vince Lombardi in there.
Not sure what the negative on Brian Johnson is here. Something happened late in the season with the Eagles, most of it coming after they axed the DC during the middle of the season. The Eagles scored more than 30 points 8 times this year, and broke 20 points 12 times. Four of the 5 times they failed to score 20 points in the regular season happened in the last 6 games. Brian has been touted as the guy that helped turn Hurts around. You don't score 30+ points in roughly half your games if you're an incompetent OC. He got fired at the end of the season as a scape goat, and remember that he was running Siriani's offense, which Siriani made clear.
I like him, Zac Robinson, and Brian Griese as potential OC's given the pool potential candidates. Not so hot on Kellen only because he doesn't run it enough which can lead to defensive fatigue, which is why he likely won't be coming here regardless of the interview. Not too keen on Thad.
for me zac robinson, as long as he realky wants this job, sounds like a no brainer
It's different for Bowles than some of the new hires, because he will still be on the hot seat next year. A new hire presumably has a couple years at least to prove himself, and so the OC can pretty much bank on that. But Bowles can not be assured that he will last more than a year. They don't even know who the QB will be, because they have to sign the OC before they can settle the QB position. It was the defense that showed some cracks this year, including his guy, Devin White. Will the new OC be tied to Bowles or will he be more tied to Licht? If he's tied to Licht and has a little more job security that way then Bowles has already lost some of his power.for me zac robinson, as long as he realky wants this job, sounds like a no brainer
So, to summarize that mess up - The devil is in the details.

Wouldn’t an OC hired by Bowles disappear with Bowles?
pretty sure that is the norm or at least the way coaches think of it. It’s one reason why the current path for Bowles is as wide as him getting fired now or getting an extension lol
There goes one candidate
”The Atlanta Falcons are expected to hire Los Angeles Rams quarterbacks coach/passing-game coordinator Zac Robinson as offensive coordinator, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Saturday evening”
Kellen Moore or Johnson would be great additions as OCs. Dorsey is not bad either. But I think the team can do better than Dorsey but Moore or Johnson would bring instant credibility with play calling.
I think Johnson would be the more likely pick due to the fact that he had no issue running the ball with the Eagles getting 128 yards/gm with 1500 yards coming from their backs and their top 3 backs all hitting 4.3+ yds/carry. Of course, Hurts added 605 yards, but that's kind of irrelevant to us. Their passing game was just 8 yards/gm less than us with a similar average per attempt (7.1 vs 7.2). As a bonus, Johnson worked with Trask in college should Mayfield decide to bolt or gets injured next year playing for us. Moore definitely likes to throw the ball all over the field and score points, but he's been let go before for scoring too quickly too often leading to a tired defense, and I think that's the very thing Bowles wants to avoid, as he talked about this issue last year. Dorsey isn't too bad of a pick either, but he'd be a longer distance 3rd pick for me, out of the announced candidates. I'd like to see them interview Brian Griese as he has ties here and clearly seems to be doing quite a bang up job out there, but I think Todd may be focusing on guys with play calling experience after this past year. I took a while for Canales to get his feet firmly under him and Todd is likely trying to avoid that going forward.
I guess Todd better get off his a$$ and make a decision soon, or we're going to be dumpster diving again. Par for the course with him.
