QB Mayfield
RB Irving, White, Tucker
TE Otton, Durham, Culp, Kieft
WR Evans, McMillan, Palmer, Jarrett, Johnson, Miller
OL Wirfs, Barton, Mauch, Goedeke, Klein
Obviously the offense has more to work with as a foundation with starters and depth compared to the defense. I would like to see the Bucs double dip at WR by re-signing Godwin and using the presumed extra third round pick they will receive by trading Dean to draft another WR to fully stock the room and look to the future. And, to protect the offense from another injury situation decimating the passing game.
Also would like to see the Bucs re-sign one of their own OL free agents (preferably Bredeson) and also draft another interior OL to push for playing time at left guard along with Klein.
Maybe draft another swing tackle to develop and maybe another QB to develop behind Mayfield, but that hinges on the OC the Bucs sign.
I will say this clearly though. A few more draft picks and free agent additions and the offense may be better than last year. So, the new OC is going to be walking into a better situation day 1. I also think that rookies, Barton, Johnson, McMillan, Irving and Culp will take the next step up which will really elevate the offense to greater heights.
The offense is basically a few pieces away from being consistently top tier.
I would like to know what the issue has been with Palmer before just deciding to move forward with him as the WR3/4. He just never got on track. Regardless, I'd be interested in drafting/acquiring another WR. How much emphasis I'd put on it would depend entirely on whether Godwin can come back 100%. But even if he does, Tb should probably look into more/better depth at WR.
I would be interested in perhaps drafting/acquiring a better option at TE, if that were possible. The kid from MI maybe.
I would be interested in replacing Bredeson.
think Bucs shouldn't fix what isn't broken
Bucs have about $12M in cap space; can free up another $65M by restructuring Baker, Wirfs, and AWJ and cutting Dean.
would highly suggest to extend Evans another year so we dont head into this season not knowing. Look at how the stadium and team responded to that dude getting 1,000 yards. He is "Tampa Bay". Fucking resign the guy and if we sign him and he sucks a year because of father time then so be it....a great investment. Also that will likely create wiggle room to free up some cap space
Sign Godwin, $20-$23M per year at a 2-3 year deal.
Would argue to resign Ben Brederson too if he isnt asking for too much; bring back the entire starting offense. No reason not too
then remainder of money you spend on reloading the defense. Draft should be heavy on defense too. Very see a 3rd or 4th round CB out there then the undrafted guys we saw this year
Palmer is a deep threat and he isn't a smooth or consistent WR in the short and intermediate area. Solid utility player along with Miller and Johnson but Bucs need to move forward with guys that can step in and play on the boundary like McMillan showed. That way if Godwin is re-signed he can focus exclusively on the slot and allow Evans a breather or two.
Bredeson wasn't anything special so Bucs can upgrade here as well over Kieft who is one dimensional. Otton, Culp and Durham upped their game by blocking and catching in space so Kieft is not far from being pushed off the roster.

I am all for the Bucs spending every cap dollar on defense with the exception of resigning Bredeson and Godwin. But for the draft Bucs need to keep the pedal on the floor and continue to stack talent on both sides of the ball offense and defense. Adding another WR and maybe an upgrade at LG would really push the offense to further heights.
And like I said trading Dean for a 3rd would allow the Bucs to use the rest of their picks on defense anways for edge, ILB, CB and safety.
Culp is a guy I'm really looking forward to seeing in year 2. He came on the last couple games (surprised he was inactive against Washington). He made some really nice hands catches and I didn't realize how big the guy actually is.

well yeah assuming we can get a third for Dean
i was actually a little surprised last year when we trading Davis.
this year, i think it would be a secrets to none that Dean is available
maybe we get a 4th or 5th? hope i'm wrong...but i can just as easily see cut with him.
Could be wrong, but I don't believe Licht can get a 3rd for dean. If he can get a 4th for him, Licht should walk away happy, with a little smirk on his face. But that's just my unvarnished opinion.

they were probably shopping both last year and now this year they have Dean being Dean (always hurt) and Davis NOT paying off for the Lions because he was hurt too.
I doubt they get a 3rd for Dean

Re: Palmer
I just don't think his speed translates and he's not elusive.
Maybe I'm wrong but he has slow burst and only showcases his speed after 10+ yards.
So that shows up well in a 40 but he's kinda "in mud" for the first 10 yards.
Maybe I'm wrong

Funny because thats exactly how he looks to me too. I wondered if maybe it was overthinking or uncertainty

Any draft pick for Dean would help because the Bucs need bodies on defense to see which players can emerge. The offense can be more selective targeting a LG and WR to train to emerge in a year or 2. But the defense needs DL, Edge, ILB (x 2), CB, Nickle CB and Safety.

We're good at TE.
Culp has all the makings of being a legit playmaker.

I loved the value of the pick.
And, in the limited snaps, he showed out.
PFF had favorable grades on him in the last 2 games (80.9 and 72.7).
Great hands, good route running, and good speed as a TE.
