If the Bucs are really going to resign Godwin, they will do it before he's a free agent IMO. They can defer most of the void money into future years. The agent and the team already pretty much know what Godwin can get in the open market. Why let all the void year money hit the cap, let him shop the market, and then negotiate a contract? Only if they think other teams aren't really going to offer him anything good. I think the Bucs know he'll get some good offers, so if they let him test the market I don't think the Bucs will be matching the highest offer. He'll be on his way.not really surprising
Fowler’s latest: Multiple execs expect the Bucs to try to re-sign Godwin, who has that Buc-for-life feel similar to Mike Evans.

Grizzard was the key driver of Bucs passing gaming on third downs. Godwin is definitely coming back or Grizzard will pound the table for him to return as a key slot player that can do so much on third and short or third and long. Godwn is an elite slot player so this is a no brainer.
And with Grizzard as the new Bucs OC I also expect the Bucs to draft another WR to develop as a slot WR behind Godwin.
