Ironically, Dennis' POOR performance against the Falcons make that comment by Trask CORRECT. The Bucs have their eggs 100% in his basket so if he sucks the Bucs have a big hole in their defense just like last year

I don't agree. If he was saying Dennis needs to be great, then yes. But he was saying he needs to stay healthy because he's so critical despite having proven nothing.

That said, it's one game... Nowhere to go but up

I think his point was that the position was not filled with anyone, so its Dennis or no one.  TO THAT POINT . . . the ODDS ON favorite Bucs 1st round draft pick here on the Red Board was. . .  Jihad Campbell.

And the number one discussed negative play defender in the 1st game . .  Dennis.

SI take on the good bad and ugly of the Flacons game included a section that discussed Dennis poor play and benching and then his response when he got back on.  This was the SI description

"Dennis came back in the fourth quarter and immediately made an impact with a tackle for loss on Robinson. He would also record a tipped pass, a stuff for no gain, and a tackle for loss at the goal line in the final quarter. If the Bucs get the fourth-quarter version of Dennis going forward, they should be just fine, but if they don’t, a razor-thin position becomes a problem quickly."

Certainly not KJ Britt.

Lol he'd probably still be running to his spot as we speak

Speaking of running…

We had a 1st down running success rate of 25% for the Atlanta game.

Almost half of those were QB scrambles.

Barf…

Where did you get that 25% stat from?  Scrambles are pass plays that breakdown.

Going off the game log, the Bucs had a 46% first down run success rate on designed runs and that is playing with a make shift line.

And, its actually a little better than the stat suggests (not that it was great) because 2 of the runs are 3 yard runs (ie just short of the 4 yard threshold) and several of them are big runs (6 yards).

For example, in the 4th drive Tucker runs for 7 on 1st down but there is a "no play" penalty on the Falcons so we go back to 1st and 5 and run it again and this time Irving runs for 11. The next 1st down is a pass, but the next one is White for 11 yards, followed up by that is White for 3 (so a failed run).

That is running success, not failure

The 1st down run success rate for Coen's offense in week 1 of 2024 look to be  . . .  also 46%

Nobody’s crying.

Everyone’s stoked about a win on the road against a divisional opponent who swept us last year. And, without studs like Wirfs and Godwin.

Just noting observations. Nothing more. Nothing less.

"Will somebody - anybody - please play with me?"

Right on schedule ^^^

Phase II of the Biggs/DH troll is ALWAYS the name calling. In this instance, rather than backing up one of your own claims.

Thanks for your help, Biggs.

Biggs . . . put the name calling aside (you will not) and dazzle everyone with your football acumen. Where did the "1st down running success rate of 25% for the Atlanta game" come from?

Do you agree with that stat?
