Every armchair HC has their personal blueprint for success and I'm no different. Here's what I'm currently thinking..Defensively, we're set at LB. David and Alexander are top notch while Carter and Lansanah are good role players and depth. Four starting quality LBs is better than most teams field running a 3-4...Apart from LB I feel good about DT. McCoy, McDonald, Melton, McDaniels, Spence, Gholston (in a pinch). We're loaded there, and along with the LBs these guys make up the reason for our run defense success. On the edges and on the backend is where we are in dire straits. We've invested heavily in the offense but now it's time to flip the script. Here's what we do...Sign DE Muhammad Wilkerson... No explanation needed he is a stud. The likes of which rarely ever hit the market, kinda like Simeon Rice. He won't be cheap, but give him Jameis's money for the next three years. Guarantee everything in 16, 17, and 18. When it's time to lockup Winston we just transfer funds from Muhammad's bank account to Jameis' and bid the old man good day.Sign CB Janoris Jenkins. Guy has speed and has developed into a playmaking starter. He won't command Peterson/Revis/Sherman money and is the perfect answer for those fast offensive guys that always burn us. Character concerns have diminished since entering the league. Pay the kid.Draft DE Emmanuel Ogbah in round 1. Sure looks like this guy is gonna rise beyond our reach but if he somehow does slide just enough he is a no brainer addition to the defense. I would even be willing to give a 2017 2nd rounder along with Glennon to move up a few spots with SF/STL/NO. Draft 2 DBs with the 2nd and 3rd round picks. Dream scenario would see us getting CB Desmond King in round 2 and S Darian Thompson in round 3. These are both stretches as each player likely goes a little sooner than we pick. The more likely scenario is still pretty good if we take S Jayron Kearse and CB Mackensie Alexander/Will Redmond/Maurice CanadyDefensive additions DE Muhammad Wilkerson, CB Janoris Jenkins, DE Emmanuel Ogbah, S Jayron Kearse, CB Mackensie AlexanderI think all five guys are plug and play starters who represent immediate upgrades at their respective positions. Suddenly our DL is one of the best in the NFL (Wilkerson, McCoy, McDonald, Ogbah, Melton, Smith, McDaniels, Spence, Gholston). S Jayron Kearse is a perfect fit as he plays well against the pass, leaving Conte/McDougald mainly in run support where they play best. CB Mackensie Alexander is overhyped right now as a potential first rounder. I think he will slide into the third as he is a bit sloppy in technique but has tremendous upside. He could go in round 2 with a great pre-draft. I think he could be a Ronde-lite type of CB for us. Not perfect on defense, we still lack depth at DB especially S, but with the front four getting insane pressure from Wilk-McCoy-Melton-Ogbah... We may not need to even dress any DBs in 16.Offensively there is a lot more to like. Jameis is poised to be the first franchise QB in team history while Martin and Sims lead the league as the best one two punch in football. Evans, Jackson, and Jenkins are obvious starters and need to stay healthy. TE is set with Brate, Stocker, Myers for depth. Kenny Bell will hopefully boost our WR core but we could probably stand to sign a guy like Marvin Jones or his teammate in Cincinatti Mohammad Sanu. No need to draft a WR high just yet. That leaves OL as the only area for improvement. We can get by with one decent addition. Free agency and the fourth round may be good for finding a G who can play either C or T in a pinch. I like the guys we have, they just need some more time. Growing pains happen, especially when you play guys like Aaron Donald. Give our hogs some credit. I also think it's time we have a true, nasty FB for Martin and JJ Watts little brother Derek fits the bill. He was a great blocker last year for Melvin Gordon, takes good angles and should be a good starting FB in the NFL, at least better than Jovorskie Lane.Offensive additions WR Marvin Jones, G Denver Kirkland, FB Derek WattRecapFree agents- RB Doug Martin (resign) DE Muhammad Wilkerson, WR Marvin Jones, CB Janoris JenkinsDraft- DE Emmanuel Ogbah, S Jayron Kearse, CB Mackensie Alexander, G Denver Kirkland, FB Derek Watt
