We do not have a starting guard on the roster. If we as fans can see it clear as day, surely the coaches see it too. Which makes me wonder, why haven't we done more for the position? I think Lovie and Co. were betting on a return from Carl Nicks. Carl bailed last minute and left us high and dry. Now we're struggling to find decent guys in the interior. You'd think with Nicks' situation and having cut Davin we would have prepared for this and yet we didn't. Without an O line we can't run, and we can't get open quick enough. If we don't make a move now, we will be picking top 10 again. Here's the dilemma for Lovie and Licht now: do we brave the season and wait for the offseason to sign Boone, or do we act aggressive and make a move for him now, possibly giving up the ammunition needed to get a top QB in the draft? Even if we do get Boone it's not enough we need to seriously consider Incognito as well.
