Again, relevant plays for OJ.

This is a great look at the full skill-set of your new TE. Should have easily had another huge catch-and-run downfield or another deep ball, but Freshman QB. Probably would have had another TD in the goal-line except for the Nancy Lane Kiffin play-calling to protect the 3 points and the Frosh around the goal-line.

1) 1st & 10 from <25. H-back Wing. Quick 5 yard stick route in traffic. Defender thumps him immediately, hangs on and carries him for another yard.

2) 1st & 10 from >39. Motion to Sprint Read Option Keeper side. QB Keeps. Howard gets way downfield and dominates the Safety (our Justin Evans). Engages him and puts him on skates to the sideline. QB basically gave up on the play and walked out of bounds rather than cutting back off of OJ's seal. Big fain, but this should have gone the distance.

3) 1st & 10 from >22. 3-point stance on End of Line. Lead up the middle. OJ engages his man and keeps engagement for 2 yards downfield. Riddley cuts off OJ and picks up 8 yards. His man is part of the tackle, but this is a good job for a TE.

4) 2nd & 2 >14. 3-point stance on End of Line. Same play. OJ a little late getting out of his stance. Not as good as last job (late and doesn't maintain as long), but 4 yard gain nets 1st.

5) 1st & 10 from <27. H-back Wing. Runs Quickout against zone. Bracketted. QB goes other sideline immediately.

6) 2nd & 1 from <41. 3-point stance on End of Line. Off Tackle to his side. Engages and completely walls off Myles Garrett. Doesn't get a sniff of contact as RB races by. Continues to maintain contact for almost duration of play. Big gain of 17 yards.

This is very good (obviously), but going to be a tiny bit nit-picky as I'd like to see better pad level and see him anchor better here.

7) 2nd & 1 from >39. 3-point stance on End of Line. Fantastic job here. He is heads up on the DE and he is actually able to engage, establish inside position, turn and wall him off, and maintain the block.

3 yard gain only due to MLB making a good play and coming up clean in the hole and making tackle.

8) 2nd & 10 from >36. Split out to Slot in spread formation. Outside Zone Read to his side. He engages and dominates the Safety (our Justin Evans). Takes him out of the play, maintains contact, and ends up 5 yards downfield.

Short gain due to missed cutback by RB and a bit of a win by DL.

9) 1st & G from >9. Motion to Wing. Cuts back on a fake Trap (he is the Trapper). DE and OJ engage and he's about 3 yards behind LoS. QB rolls to OJ's post-snap motion side and throws a 2 foot pass to OJ with defender streaking for them both who takes out OJ's legs immediately at catch. Short loss. QB should have kept.

10) 2nd & G from >11. H-Back Wing. OJ motions post-snap exactly same as (9) above (looks like Kiffin trying to take advantage of last look). This was meant to be a designed Shovel Pass to OJ with blockers out in front by A&M sniffs it out and QB keeps.

Yeah. Kiffin gets cute and no trust in QB to just line up and throw a Seam through a window or a Stick at the goal-line. That would be stealing.

11) 3rd & G from >11. H-Back Wing. OJ stays in to pass block and takes blitzing linebacker way, way wide and out of the play and stays with him. It was a designed rollout to the other side, but if it wouldn't have been, OJ's man would have had no influence.

Incomplete pass. Again, Kiffin and Freshman QB.

12) 2nd & 13 from >35. 3-point stance on End of Line. Zone-Read Option, Keeps up the middle. OJ engages Myles Garrett again, anchors well, walls him off, maintains contact. Not good enough effort by Garrett to disengage and pursue.

7 yard gain.

13) 3rd & 6 from >42. Motion from Slot to Wing. Here is the actualization of that Shovel Pass they tried in (10) above. OJ cuts back, follows a blocker, breaks a tackle around his waist, smashes into a DB and forces him wildly backward, then carries 3 guys 8 yards.

Yeah, that'll be a first down and quite a bit more (14 yards I think).

14) 1st & 10 from <15. Motion from one Wing to the other Wing. Keep to OJ's side with OJ cut-blocking the LB and taking him out of the play. QB runs inside cut block for 9 yard gain.

This is good, not great. An NFL LB wouldn't have been completely taken out of the play here. Would have been hampered and "might" have had a play on the ball carrier.

15) 2nd & G from <6. 3-point stance on End of Line with Wing outside of him. Lead Off-Tackle OJ's side. OJ again (like 6 and 7 above) immediately makes contact, established inside position, maintains block and keeps his man off ball-carrier.

Good stuff, but win for DL over OL and play is stuffed.

16) 3rd & G from <6. H-back Wing. PA-fake. OJ hits DE and relases to flat and QB hits him. LB recovers late and can't catch him. LOL Safety tries to come up and prevent score. How about no. Smashes through him to endzone. TD!

Should have been OPI by receiver to be honest.

17) 1st & 10 from >12. H-back Wing double Wing. Looks like Outside Zone the other way. Other Wing pulled at snap and was clearly supposed to cut backside pursuit in Myles Garrett. Didn't get there in time. Garrett breaks up play for 2 yard loss.

OJ dominates his edge blizter and takes him out of play.

18) 2nd & 12 from >10. H-back Wing. OJ stays in to pass block DE. Engages and anchors against bull rush. Doesn't move and maintains block.

Great stuff. QB misses WR downfield that had 2 steps on defender.

19) 3rd & 17 from >5. Slot. Draw play. OJ seals his man and maintains block. Decent yardage, but 4th down.

20) 1st & 10 from >25. H-back Wing. Looks like this was supposed to be an Inside Zone run. QB and RB miscommunication. Busted play. Impossible to get anything from this.

21) 2nd & 11 from >24. H-back Wing. PA-fake. OJ runs a drive route and is wide ass open early (no one within 10 yards..I don't know how he misses this). QB should have hit for a huge free run. He was still open late, but QB would have a downfield throw over the CB and away from S. Again, it would have been a big gain, but that is a professional throw. No way rookie QB attempts this. Freshman QB elects to throw jump ball to Ardarius Steward who is covered. He comes down with it. Big gain.

22) 1st & 15 from <35. H-Back Wing. Designed Swing route to OJ on wide side of field with blockers in front. Catches, accelerates. Beats angle of one pursuer, stiff-arms another. 21 yard gain.

23) 1st & 10 from <14. 3-point stance on End of Line with Wing outside of him. Off-Tackle OJ's side. Same play as (15). Wing and OJ double-team Myles Garrett and Wing then releases for 2nd level. Garrett does well here and gets a stalemate to keep contain even though he is moved off of his position.

Doesn't matter. Cam Robinson looks like he was going to try to get initial contact and then get to the 2nd level. He does neither and both of his men blow up the play for a short loss.

24) 3rd & 8 from <12. H-back Wing. Stays in to block and release. Great initial set and punch. Pops the LB sending him back on his heels and then releases to flat. Immediately goes Corner route to Stewart. Pretty good throw but broken up.

25) 1st & 10 from 50. Stacked with WR on short side of field. Quick-out to OJ to get more yards for Hail Mary. 8 yard reception and OB.

26) 2nd & 2 from <42. H-back Wing. Chips and releases to flat. Stiff arms defender to get OB for another 8 yard gain with 7 seconds left.

That is enough for now. I'll do the other half another time.
