He switched the Saints to a 3-4 and took the worst defense in the league in 2012 to #4 this year. And he'd definitely bring a little swagger to Tampa Bay. Plus it would hurt the Saints. Am I crazy or could he actually be a good hire if paired with a good OC?

Oh god no.He's done a good job with the Saints this season but before that there is nothing much in his history to back up his reputation as a good DC.If I remember correctly (I could be wrong) but his defenses usually finish in the bottom 10 of the league and previous to this year only had 1 year where they had a top 10 16 ranking for points or yardage (caused mostly by the Raiders offense giving up turnovers and creating short field that they couldn't defend).He's been getting by on his family name so far in his career.Kind of off topic and I know it's not all down to him but isn't this the first time ever that a team with a Rob Ryan coached defense has gone to the playoffs?

Sorry NDY, I didn't see that. But I certainly respect your opinion, so I'm glad to be of the same mind. He left Dallas and they turned to crap, he goes to New Orleans and they do a complete 360. He must be doing something right. Plus, I think he has the type of personality that the Tampa Bay area could latch on to. His attitude might be perfect for Oakland, but I wouldn't mind it here.

LOL; maybe Sean Payton really IS a genius, as he must've seen SOMETHING in Rob he liked. It seems Payton goes thru DCs at a fairly swift rate... ;D

He wasn't the DC, but he was with the Patriots for the 2001 and 2003 Super Bowls, as Linebackers coach. And those were some pretty good units.

I think I'd like to see what a Ryan defense could do with GMac, Lavonte, and Revis. Our defense this year was improved, but NOWHERE NEAR Seattle or Carolina. I want the Bucs to have an identity again. When we walk into the building I want the other team to be saying "Oh Sh!t". Did you see what Seattle did to New Orleans? That's what I want.
