Images/Getty Images The NFL's International Series won't be going away anytime soon, with games scheduled to take place in London each year until at least 2027. According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, the league may be taking a step toward having a franchise anchored in England.Breer reported a tentative plan for next year's International Series includes having one team play twice in London, with the games coming in consecutive weeks. He added why this could have such significant ramifications down the line: 
The idea of having an NFL team call London home isn't new, and representatives from both sides have openly discussed the possibility.NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said at a forum in 2013 he'd welcome a team in London, and a year later, Mark Waller, who represents the league's international affairs, offered 2022 as a prospective launch date for a franchise.Speaking ahead of the Miami Dolphins-New York Jets game in London earlier this month, Chancellor George Osborne shed some light on where things currently stand."Hopefully it is something we could achieve in the next few years, maybe four or five years' time," said Osborne, per the Press Association (via the Guardian). "These things can't change overnight because obviously teams are already based in some home cities in the States. But I am in talks with the NFL, sorting out the arrangements."Whether or not a team makes the full move overseas, the NFL will only continue building its brand in England and the rest of Europe. Doing so opens up a flood of new revenue sources for the league.The NFL has a targeted annual revenue of $25 billion by 2027, and that may be impossible without some level of increased global expansion.link
