So far on the year the Bucs are ranked 11th highest in the league for penelties. They have 87 penelties, an average of 7.25 per game for a total of 733 yards. Prorated to the end of the season that's 116 penalties for a total of 977 yards (61 yards per game) an average of 8.4 yards per penalty.
Last year the Bucs finished with a total of 143 penalties for 1195 yards for an average of 8.9 per game. Ranked 2nd in the league. (74.6 yards per game) an average of 8.5 yards per penalty
That's 27 less penalties for a total of 229.5 yards saved. An additional 14.5 yards per game....that's an additional 1.5 first downs gained. That's 3 false starts or one 15 yard flagrant foul.
It's not overwhelming, but it's progress. #2 to #11 in a single season.
