“The facts are specifically, we need to stop the run,” Jones said during a Thursday night press conference. “And we haven’t been able to stop the run in key times for several years. And when you have the kind of extraordinary pass rush that [Micah] had, then the way to mitigate that pass rush is to run at you. If the pass rush doesn’t get you ahead pretty big time, and you’re playing even or behind, then you’ve really got a problem in stopping the run."
not a reason to trade Michah lol, but he's got a point. The Cowboys have been bottom dweller on run D for years.
To that point, the Cowboys beat the Bucs in the 2022 playoffs. Brady threw 66 times, we ran 12 times.
The Cowboys went on to lose the next game to the 49ers who ran 32 times and passed 27. Some of that is game circumstances, but some of it is just the f-ed up nature of the Bucs offense in 22
@firebowles2023 I tend to agree with you. Ive seen media members saying this was as lopsided of a trade as Deshawn Watson or Russell Wilson to Denver.
I think back to Kalil Mack, his trade was also a media firestorm but in reality. It didnt move the needle for either team involved in that trade. Now I do believe Parsons will do well in GB, but im never a fan of giving up multiple 1st round picks for any veteran Non-QB player.
I dont think Dallas "won" the trade but I also dont think this trade is lopsided. Dallas has too many "stars" making giant money. This moves gives them salary flexibility. And GB better win after giving up what they did and I just dont believe in Jordan Love. I have a feeling in 2 years this trade will be looked at as no big deal.
Micah is a really good player, but he’s not nearly as good as the lore behind him.
Who was the last player that two different franchises offered the highest non-QB contract in NFL history to?
Not bad for being overrated.
I’m not privy to the Cowboys practice but all the reports are he practices pretty light, isn’t a great leader - team guy. He’s great for sure, just not sure he’s on par with Reggie White, LT, Myles Garrett. Not sure anyone won in this trade. Flashy and certainly news worthy. Good for Micah and his family.
