Just kidding about the "objectively" part. It a reference to "confusion" once offered here in defense of PFF.

And it seems PFF felt a need to clear that up right in the beginning:

"Even though PFF data backs this list and theoretically compares players at the same position, in reality, there are multiple different receiver positions represented, and there is no true way of objectively comparing Deebo Samuel’s role to Amon-Ra St. Brown or Mike Evans‘ roles."

https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff-wide-receiver-rankings-top-32-ahead-of-the-2024-nfl-season

They dont say much about Evans and certainly nothing that is bad, they just think 19 other receivers are better.

wow

i know we are Buc Fans but Evans should be in the top 10 no doubt.

i agree he's not in the top 5 at this stage in his career but i'd have him over Aiyuk, Samuel and oft inured Kupp

As far as I can tell, Monson doesn't provide the criteria they use. Maybe to their subscribers, not sure.

But yes, he is underrated in that group. Part of that is his age because the list is forward-looking. Part of it is the team he plays on and the QB and part of it is the way he has been used throughout his career, perhaps with last year being a notable exception.

Maybe unfair weight to his drops.

Oh, well. Add another chip to his shoulder.  Hope he goes out and lights it up AGAIN!

He is great on the field, but when you add his off the field contribution to the community he has been one of the very best Bucs of all times.

20th!?

I think Mike’s chips are already pushed in, but maybe with a little more English on them now.

Trying to be completely objective, I'd rank M1k3 somewhere between 10 and 15.

This can't be it if they have Amari Cooper ranked ahead of him.

I am not familiar enough with Cooper's drops, but what I meant about unfair weight to Evans is that by the nature of his role and his great play the drops might stand out a bit because some of them happen when he has already destroyed that DB and its TD if he catches it.

9th in yards and 1st in TDs with a mediocre QB. Has to be higher than 20.

Now that’s funny…

Love the amount of big-market bias in these 2024 Buccaneer ratings. Unites all Buc fans - bringing out the ‘homer’ in all of us.

I am not familiar enough with Cooper's drops

I'm only familiar with his drops because I had him on my fantasy team one year when he played for the Raiders. He had stones for hands that year, or he was stoned. One or the other.

rumblings are that he would have been higher but the writers are suggesting until ownership puts the back-up QB in; Evans has a ceiling

i remember them holding it against Joey Galloway back in the day as well with the likes of Garcia over Luke McCown!

A certain QB still living rent free.

Usual suspects.
