I think this news sucks. I'd rather roll with Glennon and a rookie QB and hope one of them is the real deal, than waste time and cap space on a Schaub or Vick. Lovie did say he carries three QBs though.....so maybe we'll sign a vet AND draft a rook. I think McCown is the most likely guy. Lovie brought him to Chicago and he was with him in 2011 and 2012. I know there is talk of McCown costing a lot because he played really well for the Bears last year, but I don't think he'll get anything outrageous. No more than a Schaub or Vick would demand. I think if Lovie calls him and says hey, all you gotta do is beat out Mike Glennon and you can be the starter....he'll jump at the chance. And who knows, maybe his 7 games of greatness was a total mirage....but you never know. maybe he finally hit his stride at 34 and can give us a few years of solid QB play while we find our guy.
I think he's bluffing. At least, I'm hoping very much he is.
I'm kinda with Dal on this one. I really can't see myself cheering for Vick to succeed at anything. Wearing a Buc logo on his uniform won't change that. Hard to have fun watching the team when you can't support the most important player. I might just spirit out an wait until we move on from him if it happened.
We've had wife beaters and rapists on this team , among other things , but you guys draw the line at someone who mistreated dogs. The overreaction seems pretty ridiculous. He served his time and hasnt been in trouble since. Give the guy a break.
He's a terrible QB. Dog destroyer or not. Why the groin lust for this herpes addled craptard QB who is softer than a fart?I'd rather have Glennon or another rook before Mike Stinkin' Vick. And FWIW, Dal has been very consistent when it comes to certain characters on the team. He was harsh on Jerramy Stevens, even when some were not. Same with Leonard Little, "Weed" Talib, etc. Vick is a lousy QB. Bottom line. But the guy has some issues going on IMO. The way he treated those dogs was really really barbaric. He may have changed. But I couldn't care less. He sucks.
If you think he sucks that's fine , but don't give me this , " I won't even root for the team anymore " crap. That's ridiculous if you ask me. People act like the guy is Hitler.
Wait a second - think of all the new pewter jersey's with Mexico above the 7.

Hows the lighting?
Matt Schaub is clearly the answer at quarterback (of what will be our options in FA and the draft).
Yea, its so clear that the Texans can't wait to be rid of him.

lol...i don't get it either. Its not like we're inviting the guy over to dinner.
Vick payed his debt for what he did. That said I don't see the point in bringing him in. He is getting long in the tooth, is injury prone, and even on his best day isn't a very good QB. I just don't see the upside. He is what he is and every practice or game snap he gets is one taken away from a younger guy that may pan out.

Why would he bluff? There's nothing to be gained. You seem to be in stage 1 of the Kübler-Ross model.

We have too many bandwagon fans here. :(

A reasonable objection. Imagine that.
