Jameis Winston NFL Draft Stock Takes Another Hit by Erik Lambert 5min ago Winning the national championship gave Jameis Winston loads of NFL draft credibility given his talent. Now he seems hell bent on destroying it. Just months after he was caught shoplifting at a local grocery story with video and all, news broke recently that the sophomore Florida State quarterback could be in much deeper trouble. According to USA Today and the New York Times, the university opened a Title IX investigation into Winston stemming from allegations of his involvement in a sexual assault regarding another student on campus in 2012. Now, this marks the fourth time the accuser has attempted to take action against Winston but it’s the first time a Title IX is involved. The key difference is that school investigations require less burden of proof than those by police or federal groups. This means if Florida State finds anything fishy regarding whatever happened two years ago, Winston could see significant punishment such as a one-year suspension from school. While it isn’t the same as a felony conviction, a suspension would be another hard blow to the draft stock of Winston. Draft stock that looked off the charts after his freshman campaign. It’s just another example that physical talent never compensates for poor decision making on or off the field.link
