Licht says there are about five players he would be comfortable taking if he picks at 5, which is good because he picks 5th. If it was less than five we'd be in trouble. We might have a Vikings moment where they don't get the card to the podium on time.
I'm a little concerned that apparently he said "he" and not "we" are comfortable. I would think that Arians and Bowles would be involved in a group decision. Sikkema did not post a direct quote though, so who knows how he actually worded it.
Bosa, Allen and Williams are going to be gone. So I'm pretty good at math, so that means even before the combine he already has it narrowed down to two guy. Thats if he can't trade down, because we know from history and the draft position that Licht is itching to trade down. But there has to be a trade partner for that to work.
Who are those two guys? Using my amazing powers of deduction, I deduce that if Licht is the point man on this pick, its defense. Its been narrowed down. They can see that defense is the priority and Arians is an offensive guy, so its Licht picking with Bowles input of course. And beyond that I can't narrow down the position for you. Sorry.
So since this is pre-combine, pre-interview it has to be one of those known guys. So Oliver is out, because how can you be comfortable drafting him pre-interview?
I'd say its Greedy, Gary, White not in any order. The big three and then those three is his draft board.
