Former NFL safety Rodney Harrison was a guest on Pro Football Talk on NBCSN and he talked about the crazy things players would do in order to get a jersey that they wanted from another teammate.“[A] guy offered another guy $50,000 for his number and the guy said, ‘No way, I need my number,’” Harrison said. “It just shows you how superstitious these guys are and how connected they are to their number. But at the same time, then the next thing was probably the craziest thing, money, people offer that all the time, but the guy said, ‘Hey man, I’ll allow you to sleep with my girlfriend.’ Once he said that, I lost my mind. I said no way can it be that serious. I said, ‘Obviously you don’t love your girlfriend that much.’”It seems like some NFL players live in an entirely different world. I can’t imagine taking a player up on an offer to sleep with his girlfriend in order to give him the jersey number he wanted.Harrison also told Mike Florio that he chose to wear the number 37 in college and as an NFL player in order to establish his own identity as a player after wearing the number 24 in pop-warner and the number 3 in high school.link
