How can anyone defend such an EPIC ending to a season that began with so much promise.
Crazy that there are still a few on here that do.
Wild.
Name them?
I see mostly racism (DEI) and angst and I don't think there is a single person here defending the players or the coaches? Maybe defending Licht, but you defend Licht right?
So who are you two talking about?
Sure.
Once you answer me regarding your accusation that I made a racist comment about Bowles.
Nice deflection. if you want to reframe your "optics" comment go right ahead. That would be 100% ON BRAND, right?
So, go ahead . . why dont you "expand" on your though now . . . and then come back to the FOOTBALL?
Exactly what I thought.
Just like refraining from getting behind the wheel after drinking cheap vodka for hours.
You simply can’t do it.

so, gave you the chance to expand but you declined and went with "cunt"
Like I said . . ON BRAND
Because there is no one to name? You and seekpar were discussing phantoms?
I think the depressing thing for me is, I went into the season thinking our roster was top 5 in the league and now I am not only questioning the coaching but am starting to think that an offense with Baker, Evans, Godwin, McMillan, Egbuka, Irving, White, and Otton, just isn’t that great. Which seems absurd.
Our defense was always going to be a work in progress this season but I figured our offense would score a TD a quarter and we would be fine.
Damn. We are so screwed until we get a new coaching staff.
Someone like Licht needs to take an honest look at this team and get it fixed quickly. We are one of the youngest teams in the league, so I do have hope, I am just concerned we won’t make a move in a couple of weeks.

Because its not that. Its an offense with all those players BUT
1. a decimated O-line - the most important aspect of any offense
2. No running game (see #1) - the foundation of an offense
3. No Coen -- (see #2)
4. Baker, Evans, Godwin, Irving all dealing with injuries too
If you compare to the 2024 offense the things that really standout as missing in 2025 are a healthy O-line and Coen's spectacular run game behind that line.

You claimed that I made a racist post.
I asked you to point out what was racist.
You ducked it.
When pressed again, you offered me the opportunity to "expand" on my post.
Again, you refused to point out what was supposedly racist.
Could've simply apologized for making a bullshit accusation, yet...

DH, if YOU say your comment was NOT racist thats fine, but it is YOU declining to provide the alternative explanation, including the SOURCE of the optics comment evne though that might provide an alternative context.
TRYING TO FLIP IT IS . . . ON BRAND for you. Your CHOICE to NOT explain/provide the alternative meaning, but that CHOICE and the hilarious name calling that followed are the classic ON BRAND chicken spit I was talking about to begin with on the "optics" comment (anonymous poster posts anonymous slander)
"DH" uses perceived anonymity to call people CUNTS . . . over football. That same poster anonymously slandered a head coach* using an ANONYMOUS source to give it some credibility. Those things are RELATED and predictable because its the same poster ("ON BRAND"). The point isnt the racism (although that possibility is terrible and still you have declined twice now to clarify/correct/explain) the point is that you were saying "anonymously" that Bowles was hired/retained for some reason other than ability and doing so based on an anonymous source and that is exactly what one would expect from "DH" BASED ON YOUR REGULAR POSTING HERE ALL THE TIME.
I mean, look at your immediate response ("just like refraining . . ") lmao. A deflection. And 100% guaranteed more to follow. There NEVER were "posters defending an Epic ending?" Like there has never been an alternative explanation for "optics" because those things are not the point to YOU.
The point is the anonymous posting of "cunts" and "optics"
Just watch. .. .
Pick either one, DH?
if you want to reframe your "optics" comment go right ahead.
So who are you two talking about?
this was your inital reponse
Sure.
nothing followed except . . well.you know

Of course but I also knew at the time, there had never been a scenario, where a head coach who had won multiple divisions was going to get fired for a coordinator on the same team. It’s never happened, ever.
So once he was hired by Jacksonville I stopped thinking about “what could have been” like some scorned school girl.
DEI is a real policy, with dubious goals. If someone attacks it, you can’t defer to racism.
It’s a bad policy because it guarantees an outcome - not just opportunity - but what is the outcome? If it is based on anything other than achieving maximum outcome of performance (in the case of a football oriented focus) then it can achieve “an” outcome, but does it achieve winning?
Right now that outcome is a side issue. The racism accusation is a distraction.
Todd Bowles has had opportunity to provide us with a team that is in a weak division and our best performance is that this team is mediocre at best. Like nearly every team, injuries are a part of the Bucs recent issues, but injuries are just a contributing factor. The defense is terrible. We were all led to believe that when our (offensive) horses came back - watch out! The reality is that our offense is performing the opposite of what we achieved against better competition, earlier in the season.
That points to a DC that has no answers, and an OC with no answers - from the same group of players.
We can keep making excuses, but the coaching must have more to do with it. We see that the defense can’t stop rookie QB’s from looking like all pro’s. Now our offense can’t find any in-game consistency. Dynamic chunk plays that can’t consistently be counted on to finish drives. That’s play calling.
This team seems to have given up. It’s exhausting.
Those of us who HATE coaching changes, are now coming to the conclusion that Bowles has lost the team. Some of us have concluded that despite another mid-season collapse, the organization likely will stay the course… that’s beyond exhausting.
It’s not racism it’s bad football by an unmotivated team, and poor to unimaginative coaching - on both sides of the ball. Who’s fault is that?
If someone attacks it, you can’t defer to racism.
I dont see a post here (other than yours) that reflects the poster attacking the policy of DEI.
There are multiple posts here suggesting Bowles was a DEI hire and at least one that he was retained over Coen because of DEI, I think.
White guys venting by anonymously posting racism is hardly a novel event. Neither is it a noble policy statement.
Its racism. FULL STOP. And I agree it is a distraction and an unnecessary one at that.
Saying Bowles is a DEI hire is one of the laziest takes in the history of the sport.
I wasn’t for the Bowles hire initially because if I was in charge, I would never hire a retread. Ever. I think there are always young up and coming coordinators with a leadership skill set who can do amazing things. That’s why we have a GM, so that process can be thoroughly researched and an adequate hire can be made.
Tampa’s locker room clearly needs a new voice. That’s not even necessarily a slight on Bowles but it happens.
Licht and the Glazers, go do your job!
Keep your political buzzwords and your bean rubbing penchant for making all things political, off this board please.
That’s why we have a GM, so that process can be thoroughly researched and an adequate hire can be made.
The irony is that Bowles is the head coach because of Tom Brady, as much as anything.
So, IF one says Brady brought winning culture here (HE DID), he also brought Bowles here AS THE HEAD COACH by basically un-retiring AFTER the normal coaching HIRING period AND by playing a part in Arians retiring. Bowles was the most qualified internal candidate.
Aaron Glenn was hired by the Jets (the most dysfunctional franchise) in January. Mike Vrabel, January. Pete Carroll, January.
Bowles is announced as the head coach of the Bucs on March 30th? Tom Brady changes his mind on March 13th 2022.
As I think BucsShot420 correctly points out, that is not DEI. That is a transfer of power SPURRED ON by Brady's late change of heart. This is why the Bucs ownership did not see Bowles as killing Brady in 2022 lmao. And then likely saw him as turning the team around in 2023 . .

yeah whether it was Arians or Brady, it wasn't Licht as his hands were tied

say what you will and it may not have been pushed by Licht or Glazers, but by Arians own account, it was a DEI hire. Obviously he didnt use those words, but just do some research on google and you will see he wanted Bowles to take over for him and more about DEI than anything else
it's ok to be on opposite ends of the political spectrum but your political views is why we have Bowles cuz.
