I said it was a racist trope. Maybe look up why I included trope.
why was it not?
How was it racist trope, Vin?
It played to a common theme (trope) thats playing out right here on the board, the idea that a black man (Bowles) was hired/or retained for a reason ("optics") other than the content of his character (qualification as a coach). Worse than that - in an almost cartoon-like fashion - you credited it to an ANONYMOUS SOURCE. That is, in and of itself, a very common racial issue, the idea that the story you are conveying is true because of a person who shall remain nameless. Theres a name for that too. lol
That's why said identify the source then, to give it context, because you used it to add credibility.
You have suggested your intent was not to post a racist trope, intent, but never explained what you meant. . . . despite MULTIPLE OPPORTUNITIES, including this one again lol. Just a lot of the usual chickenspit name calling
Thats on you, not me.
"I spoke to a person who should know and that person says DH is ______"
"I golf with a guy connected to the FO and he says Bowles is _____"
How can anyone defend such an EPIC ending to a season that began with so much promise.
Crazy that there are still a few on here that do.
Wild.
Name them?
I see mostly racism (DEI) and angst and I don't think there is a single person here defending the players or the coaches? Maybe defending Licht, but you defend Licht right?
So who are you two talking about?
This is my post from the other day in the RE:Gut Feeling thread
"Well that is fucking woke. Let's focus on whether he's a below average HC, average HC, or above average HC. The record is 35-36. That is below average. Black, white, green, yellow, whatever, he's fucking blah."
My point was let's evaluate Bowles based on his record and performance, not the color of his skin. People should not be placed in positions based on Diversity, Equity, or Inclusion.

right I saw that post but my question was who is defending the epic collapse?
I see only people saying time to move on etc

You simply assumed that, Vin.
Not the first time you've done it, nor will it be the last. Hell, you've even gone as far as accusing me of posting on alternate accounts (despite the fact you've changed screen names nearly a dozen times over the last 15 years). If anything, it's clear projection on your part.
In all my posts regarding Bowles, I have never claimed he was a "DEI hire" or anything of the sort.
Again, you just assumed.
Instead of asking for elaboration or explanation (which you just now started), you IMMEDIATELY pulled the race card.
Instead of acknowledging previous conversation discussing the optics of firing a HC winning multiple division titles (despite how comical they have been and how we wouldn't make the playoffs in any other division) or the perception of a HC change within the locker room, etc.; you ran right to the SJW #1 dogwhistle...you introduced race.
As I said, you could've simply apologized for your slanderous post. I would've respectably accepted and moved on.
You chose (and continue to do so) double down with your baseless accusation.
So, feel free to do what you've done for nearly 2 decades on here:
Satisfy your insatiable need to get in the last word, spend hours with multiple string posts, etc.
We are done.
Happy New Year and wish you the best moving forward.

ON BRAND ^^ and 100% as predicted.
I explained my position. Invited you to explain yours (about 6 times lol). You chose not to, but out comes the "cunt" stuff
Slanderous post? (Projecting) You cant read. You asked me to apologize. I'd apologize if I was wrong, but that would take . . an explanation .. you choose not to provide. Weird, huh?
Moving on
Bruce Arians retires leaving the NFL coaching world better than he found it - Sports Illustrated
i mean there's been many articles on it. Bowles got the job because he was black. Doesn't mean the Glazers or Licht picked him because of that given our hands were tied, but clearly Arians made it happen because of that.
doesn't make me racist, doesn't make you question your politics; it's okay. But Bowles became our head coach because of liberal ideas. And hey, we have 3 division championships and a collapse to show for it. Not the end of the world.

I think the point is you are drawing an inference that does not exist as a FACT. Thats is why you said "not in so many words" or similar
Arians having a succession plan and being a believer in diversity does not mean the Bowles hire as HC on March 30th was a DEI move lol. It does not because Bowles is the most qualified internal candidate at that moment (again its March 30th thanks to Brady) and he's not UNQUALIFIED as his defense played a huge role in the Super Bowl win. Hes actually supremely qualified as compared to the other coordinator, right?

what if the plan all along was for Bowles to replace Arians and after 2 years of domination, Licht and glazers were on board?
Here's a simple thought experiment for anyone who cares.
As a HC and with this collapse there is a TON of reasons to criticize Bowles for FOOTBALL stuff. Literally, a ton. Team in total collapse.
There are at least a half dozens posts and two threads that are attacking Bowles CHARACTER.
In the real world the guy is known as a STAND UP CHARACTER. Literally the first thing almost anyone says about him.
And again tons of football flaws.

who is attacking his character?
i like Todd Bowles the person. I actually felt a bit sorry for him listening to a press conference the other day. His players quit on him and Baker Mayfield turned into a pumpkin
that being said, he's the head coach and different than no other team, he will be held accountable.
still doesn't negate the fact that he was made head coach because of DEI - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - which is what Arians is all about!
Said another way, if the Bucs had an actual coaching search in 2022, Bowles would have gotten the rooney rule interview but wouldnt have gotten the head coaching job.
who is attacking his character?
Dirk Koetter is an elevated coordinator hired 7 days I think after the HC was fired.
was Koetter hired solely because he was white?

the only reason it wasn't sooner is because of...DEI...Bucs had to do a silly Rooney rule interview where guy didnt have a chance - Harold Goodwin
It was clear that given that Lovie wasn't adding any value from the defensive side and that Koetter was critical to Jameis development, that they made the move for that reason, black white or indifferent. It's just a shame they didn't do it again last year....

So that's a "no" lol.
FWIW, it's one thing to be against DEI
It's an entirely different thing to say Bowles was a DEI hire. That should be obvious because just as you listed a football reason for hiring Koetter there were many football reasons to hire Bowles
