Just in case you were wondering about the playoff chances.... Slim and None have already left town, and only Astronomical is still hanging around.
There are two wild card teams. Hand one WC to the loser of Saints/Panthers. The Vikings, Packers, Eagles, Seahawks, and Falcons, all battle hardened teams, are fighting for that last WC scrap. All with better records than the Bucs. None of them are "pretenders".
To make a complicated story simple, these teams play each other numerous times, so if one of the teams goes into the tank it will be to the benefit of other teams on that list. 10-6 will be the minimum record to even get into a tiebreaker At least one of Vikings or Packers will make it to 9-6-1.
So the Bucs have to go 7-1. They play the Skins and their division foes all at home. So that's the only glimmer of hope, that the home field will save them. But then they will play a couple of wounded dogs Baltimore and Dallas on the road. Those are not teams who will be calling in their tee times. Out of all that, can come only one loss.
I'm a positive person, but not unrealistic. I don't believe that miracles or magic is going to visit the Bucs. Stick the fork in this season.
