After watching the game last night - it's pretty apparent that while our top 30 players seem to have improved, the other half of the roster is mediocre at best. Here's my take on the positions we should be looking to upgrade:

Wide Receivers: Frankly everyone beyond the first 3 could be upgraded and that includes Russell Sheppard. Shep will probably make the team mostly for his special teams play, but other than the first game, he really didn't show anything as a receiver. Nobody else did much either. This position is definitely a target for improvement in next draft.

Running Backs: Beyond Martin and Sims, everyone else is just a guy. IMO Mike James is the best of the bunch if he's healthy. If not, we need someone else.

Quarterbacks: Already covered in other threads. Disappointing. I think I'm happy that this is Glennon's last season with us. Might be inclined to put a quarterback on the practice squad and let Griffen go.

Offensive Line: Work in progress, saw flashes here and there but these guys seem to be mostly pass protection guys. Need a guard and tackle that can road grade for the run.

Tight End: Vitale should go to practice squad, didn't show me enough to make the roster.

Defensive Line: Need better DT depth. Washington doubled Akeem and ran up the middle. Lots of missed tackles. Jack Smith is not a good run defender and neither is Noah Spence at the moment.

Linebackers: Lots of missed tackles - middle linebackers did not impress.

Defensive backs: Mostly seemed to do okay except for Robinson on the one touchdown, however, they were aided by weather.

Special Teams: I thought for the most part, these guys did fine.
