Love what the Bucs have done so far in FA. I would like them to bring in some help for pass rush, and think they bring in an under the radar body similar to the 1-yr deal when we picked up Shaq.

Nonetheless, check out this Bucs Mock Draft I think would set us up nicely:

  • 1st Round (#26) - Jackson Powers: Instant upgrade over Hainsey and brings back the physicality that's been missing since Jensen.
  • 2nd Round (#57) - Max Melton: Bowles pick. A super athletic and speedy DB that can play inside and out to pair with Dean, Zyon. Great ball skills too.
  • 3rd Round (#89) - Marshawn Kneeland: High-motor pass rusher with size who can play the run. I like the size and power with him and Diaby.
  • 3rd Round (#92) - Jeremiah Trotter Jr: Licht pick. Bucs continue NFL bloodline trend. Licht familiar with Jeremiah Sr. during his time in Philly.
  • 4th Round (#125) - Johnny Wilson: Mike Evans comp. Let him sit and learn from the GOAT. Evans and Wilson combine numbers very similar.
  • 6th Round (#220) - Cody Shrader: Igniter type player. Former walk-on at Missouri who finished as Doak Walker finalist in 2023.
  • 7th Round (#246) - Shyheim Battle: Big 6'2 corner who's a willing tackler and can play special teams while he develops.

Thoughts?

though last year yaya diaby in round 3 worked out pretty well!

If JPJ and Kneeland fell like this, oh my goodness.

Would definitely give you an A on this mock.

Actually would love it if the draft broke this way for us, and the Johnny Wilson pick is interesting.

I like it.

I mean that would be great if the draft board fell that way.

While Wilson’s 40 time & change of direction was below average, could you imagine? Dude is a hybrid - and had me thinking baby-Evans when I watched him at the Underwear Olympics - you could deploy him like a TE or WR and wreak havoc depending on the grouping/sets you put him in.

It will be interesting to see in what round he actually ends up going. I can’t imagine him falling to the 4th?

I'm seeing Melton as a third/fourth round grade. Other then that, the mock is solid.
