Clowney is arguably the best player in the draft. Could happen if he slides a bit. If Lovie can get that guy to play, next to McCoy... it would be SICK!

I've watched Watkins the whole time he has been at Clemson and he is an impressive player....but not sure I want to invest that high of a pick on a WR.  Would rather try to trade the pick and move down and pick up another teams first and second.  Pick up a player like Michael Sam from Mizzou and then maneuver to pick  Brandin Cooks from Ore St.  Watching him reminds me of Steve Smith.  He would give the Bucs a dynamic slot receiver and return specialist.

I've always loved the "I'd rather trade down" nonsense as if it's a forgone conclusion that someone WANTS your pick and is willing to pay your price for it. Draft day trades are perfect storms of one team falling in love with a player and being desperate enough to shed part of it's future in pursuit of said player and the other team willing to turn away from their draftboard and wait a bit longer for the promise of getting some extra ammunition to work with.As for those who say the Bucs don't have enough ammunition to trade up - of course they do. They could trade their entire draft. They could trade future draft picks. It's all what they're willing to surrender in pursuit of Clowney or one of the Big 3 quarterbacks.

+1Message Board GMs think it is the easiest thing in the world to work a draft day trade. Im sure it is easy if youre willing to get ripped off. Receiving the proper value for trade.....especially in the 1st round, takes a little more finesse and some things that are out of the control of the Bucs GM.

Really? Why not? Because you don't see their highlights as much as Manziel's?Clowney has the pontential to be THE dominant pass rusher in this league for years to come. In a QB driven league, is it not smart to load up your defense?

Shidddd.. I would.Better that than this mediocre band of pigs that everybody is trying to put lip stick on and trying parade them as top 10 franchise QB prospects.

I don't know why you wouldn't trade up for a defensive lineman. The two lines and the QB are the only important positions, so you might as well get the best players possible at those positions. :)

The only place Clowney will "slide to" is ATL.  Nobody is trading to 2 for him,  and none of the QB hungry teams from 3 to 5 are going to trade below Atlanta.

No way the Bucs trade up for Clowney. I don't think the Bucs have the ammo to trade up for anyone. I think if they were to trade up it would be because they had a shot at drafting a QB...but again...they don't have the ammo and I don't see them giving up any future first round picks.

Of course, we have the ammo.....its just a matter of who we value and at how much.

Agree. He would make our defense better. If improved our offense in FA then I would be all for trading up for Clowney.

Good chance Oakland would. I'd bet if Bridgewater, Bortles and Manziel go before they pick they will target Watkins. They can trade back two spots and still get Watkins most likely.

im of the belief you don't trade up to the top of the 1st round for anything but a QB.  And look around the league.  Good DEs come from all over the draft.

Cleveland could trade back to 7 if the guy they wanted is gone (e.. JFF). Same with Oakland. Never know.
