As I have read the coverage of the Bucs so far this offseason by the staff, there seems to be a dichotomy that exists. On the one hand, there has been some negative coverage of all three: the coaching staff, the gm, and the personel we have. Deservedly so, I might add. They stated that 2016 was a bit of a fluke and 2017 better represented their talent level. At the same time, I have heard a lot of praise from the PR staff on the off-season acquisitions we have made and the recent draft and how much better we look (though we have been told to temper expectations for how much Vea will contribute to the team this year).
However, there seems to be a number of mixed messages on how this will translate towards this coming season. Mark Cook seemed to say after day one of the draft that Koetter and Licht just drafted their walking papers. The Man Bun stated that we were not too far away from a play-off team AND might already be there. Scott Reynolds has seemed to be quite vague on the issue.
I personally would be interested to know how the PR staff feels right now about the upcoming season. Do they believe we have the personnel to make the play-offs like we could have a couple of years ago, or do they think we will be only a 500 team at best due to either the players or the coaching staff even after all the praise they seem to be giving Licht and the organization recently? This might even be given in a Point-Counter Point format or a RoundTable discussion. Right now, however, I'm hearing the call that we can be optimistic AND the foretelling of another losing season simultaneously, and would like to know which one is the real message you are intending to send. Thanks.
