Alex Mack | CenterTeam: Cleveland BrownsAge / DOB: (28) / 11/19/1985Ht / Wt: 6'4' / 311College: CaliforniaNFL Network's Ian Rapoport believes there's a "much better chance" the Browns re-sign free agent C Alex Mack following the firing of GM Mike Lombardi.Per Rapoport, Mack will still reach the open market, but was as good as gone under Lombardi. RapSheet said earlier Tuesday that he'd be "surprised" if fellow Browns free agent T.J. Ward didn't receive the franchise tag, suggesting Mack isn't a candidate to be tagged. Mack graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 center in 2013, and wouldn't lack for suitors in free agency. Feb 11 - 8:42 PMSource: Ian Rapoport on Twitter
With all their cap space, he stays.
I am intrigued with bringing in an All-Pro Center but after spending so much money on our OG positions, I am a little gun shy about now making Mack the highest paid center in the league. There are other positions like DE and LT that I would rather spend the big bucks on. I am intrigued about the possibility of making a run at Saints UFA Center Brian De La Puente. He has been a quality starter and will come a lot cheaper then Mack
6 years and $49.1 million is the starting point for negotiations with Mack, IMO
I think we need to find some young lineman in the draft. C/G is a high priority in this draft.
Would like us to pursue Mack and restructure Joseph & Penn. If Nicks is in fact back & healthy, I wouldn't miss Joseph at all... We do have the Warhop/Mack and Mack/Tedford connections in our favor. Coaches who've already had a history with a FA often get their way...
What's to restructure with Joseph? He's playing at such a low level that if the Bucs' FO can't find a cheaper replacement than we brought in the wrong guys.
Man the best thing that could happen his off season would be if nicks is healthy and ready to go. Although after a few weeks it would probably be followed up with him being out again for a few months

Yup. An itty bitty big toe on a 350lb man won't last long before something happens.Imo, he is done.
