I was watching a preseason game a few weeks ago and saw a D line guy hit the Qb after he got rid of the ball. It wasn't a bad play by any means and no flag was thrown. However I turned to my brother and said to him if that was Drew Brees that would have been a penalty. I also thought back to our first game against the Saints last year and how we probably would have won that game had a few things been different. One if we hit that FG at the end of the game and the other being if the refs called a better game a few points would have been negated because we got several roughing the passer penalties or similar penalties because we got in Drew Brees face. Im a bit worried that we will deal with this again and maybe even more so since we are dealing with a league that really tries to protect their players. It may be the "right" thing but it takes away from the game. Not only that but I also feel like they can be a bit biased with this. Why wouldn't they call that same hit for a backup qb I saw in the preseason game but do it every time for Drew Brees? I know it's been discussed before but I hate that these guys get special treatment because they are the best players in the league. Anybody feel that you see better stats from these guys and maybe some more wins because they are so protected? Thoughts?
