Never should have been removed in the first place . Glad to see Chucky back on the field coaching ! Even though i am jealous of the Chiefs success, most of us can all agree that the Bucs need to get out of there feels and do what is right !

he is suing the NFL for millions so seems unlikely.

Isnt he also just visiting the Chiefs as a "consultant," meaning not part of the team?

Interesting move...

He was definitely the scape goat to amuse the sheep that believe everything the authorities/government tell them.

the same that believe “coach training camp talk” as gospel lol

think about it. The only bad emails during the time that Colin kaep was boycotted or that first gay player Michael Sam was entering the nfl were a handful of off colored remark emails by Gruden?

hard to believe yet the investigation ended there and nothing else leaked to the public

dude should be added back to the ring of honor. There’s I’m sure alot worse shit this that has been muttered in nfl locker rooms

Much like Pete rose in mlb, unlikely glazers feel it’s important enough for the controversy so don’t hold your breath there

scape goat

Those are his clams, but he recently lost (I think) a chance to get it out of arbitration so that he could air the dirty laundry!

I agree with you that he's not some offensive genius AND his ego/power** played a big part in the post-Super bowls struggles, but I heard Brooks talk about Gruden trash talking the D when he arrived. He supposedly went on and on about 45-0 win with the Raiders.  I think that Bucs defense was probably holding most teams below 20 that year.

Brooks credits that attitude as lighting a fire under the defense that propelled them all the way to the trophy. Brooks is 100% a Dungy guy. Similar stuff from Sapp and Barber. Gruden was the right coach for that time.

**Post-Super Bowl I think he still in his 30s (maybe 40) and his resume is offensive genius/QB whisperer/SB winner . . .  so its not that unusual that it would all go to his head.  He won the power struggle in the FO and it was largely downhill from there, including after his departure!

Mike Evans also said that Winston was a “franchise/elite QB” who had a “great football mind”.

Alas, I get what you’re trying to say.

Still comical though, to see that overrated blowhard still trying to cling to any shred of relevancy.

There are a lot of high powered teams asking him to consult (Chiefs, Saints, etc,), his players seemed to love him, and he was pretty good at football before the NFL undermined his character.

I mean, as I recall, he was responsible for both teams in the Super Bowl that season… and they had to invent the tuck rule to deny him a shot the season before, right?

If the key players on two sides of the ball stick up for him, and he won the first Suoerbowl this franchise has ever seen, how can you deny his place in the Buccaneer ROH?

There's a rumor that Gruden will be on the Chiefs staff this year, either as a consultant or a coach. From basically one source, and not necessarily the most reliable one at that. But the wise old elves say there little to no chance of it actually happening.  Most think it's just old friends' stuff.  It's no secret that Gruden and Andy were roomies back in GB as asst coaches and have had a close friendship since.  I think probably the WOEs are right and it's nothing but two old friends getting together, maybe just to talk football.

The only thing that gives me a little pause is that Gruden was actually wearing Chiefs red-and-gold yesterday and today while visiting camp.  Figure Andy will make an announcement, if it comes to that, by Thursday.

Personally, I'd kind of like to see Gruden on the Chiefs sidelines this year.  Always liked Gruden's style and manic Chucky energy.

I am not sure relevancy is the goal. I think he's acted as a consultant for the Raiders and Bucs rivals. Maybe thats just an odd coincidence.

Actions should have consequences. Maybe the NFL was too harsh on him, idk... Don't really care because he's no longer a brilliant offensive mind. He was a solid commentator imo...

But sending EMAILS of all things with those comments? That just tells me he's stupid.

One take: much about nothing. Gruden wore Saints gear when he helped them at training camp

Another take: ongoing battle between Gruden and league.

Did I read this right?

You listed the Saints as a high powered team?

Lol. Please include the other teams you conveniently categorized as "etc". Can't wait to see those.

and he was pretty good at football before the NFL undermined his character.

Pretty good you say?

In his 15 years as a head coach, he had 6 seasons being north of 500.

And, the "offensive guru" had ONE offense ranked in the Top-10 in his last 11 years as a HC.

I mean, as I recall, he was responsible for both teams in the Super Bowl that season…

Wait, so he was responsible for his prior team being in the Super Bowl.

Guess Dungy was responsible for the Bucs being in it.

Glad we got that cleared up.
