@RapSheet 33mThere were questions about how Lovie Smith would use Darrelle Revis. I’m told he has big plans for Revis. Absolutely has a future in TB@RapSheet 35mPlayed a lot of man-to-man at the end. RT @bucsORgtfo: @RapSheet Thank you. People that say Lovie is strictly cover 2 don't know ????
I wasn't a fan of the trade or contract but now Revis is here if Lovie can't alter his defensive scheme to include the best CB in the fame (when healthy) he's not the coach many think he is.I'm not saying that as a dig at Lovie, the same goes for any coach that can't adjust for a great player.
We're talking about Lovie Smith here. The guy is a great defensive mind and definitely will adjust his scheme to include the best cover CB in the NFL in his defense. Only shitty coaches like Schiano try forcing players to play in their schemes, regardless of if it fits their strengths.
Who's this Schiano guy I hear people referring to?

The thing is how great of a defensive mind is he really, I see that as something of a myth. For as great as he's hyped to be how was it that for 5 of 9 seasons in Chicago his teams ranked outside the top 10 for both points & yardage? When he was with the Rams he had just 1 great season, the other 2 were very average. For as much as he's hyped up you would expect to see Pittsburgh type rankings or near to it.
That cut-Revis talk was stupid anyway. Glad Lovie put that to rest before it grew any legs because the media in this town loves controversy.
Fans play too much Madden. No coach ever runs one scheme or play 100% of the time. Revis will play man, zone, press, off man etc. He will be fine and Lovie wouldn't dare get rid of him.
Lovie is drooling at thought of having the best 4-3 DT, OLB, and CB in the league.
Love Smith was also a DB coach in the past. Same thing with Frazier who also played CB for the SuperBowl 86 Bears. They will have no problem getting putting Revis to good use
LMAO at idiots that want to get rid of Island. Dummies.

I GUARANTEEEEEEEE they are a top 5 unit next year at least.
Sapp, Brooks, Barber, Lynch. McCoy, David, Revis, and...? Missing that fourth element. Is Barron "The Fourth Element"?

Possibly. IMO, Banks......at FS. Mark it down.

We could use an edge rusher too. Could you imagine McCoy, David, Revis AND Clowney all on the same defense with Lovie coaching them up? My god. :o

I think truth be known, Revis was never 100% here. We have our QB situation on the cheap for another year, presumably, so might as well keep Revis and actually use him like he's getting paid for. I think in this situation, Schiano took the bad press for not using Revis in more man because he didn't want it to leak that his guy wasn't 100%. Another offseason and another 6 months before team stuff starts again should allow Revis to make a full return to whatever caliber player he may be.
