Scott, As an avid Bucs fan I greatly appreciate the Pewter Report. It's where I go for the inside information of Buc's news, Thank you. I always read the Friday question and answer forum and I have a question for you.You have said that Jason Licht, Jon Robinson and Mike Beiel are great at evaluating talent in the draft. If they are so good at evaluating talent, why can't they evaluate talent in the free agent pool with much more tape to look at? Talent is talent and I would think that watching someone perform at the NFL level would be much easier to predict then an unknown out of college or someone who has not played at the professional level. I understand the Bucs made mistakes recently with lousy choices in free agency and that top tier free agents are costly which has hit the Glazers hard. They certainly did not make a mistake with Vincent Jackson! I do agree that you build a foundation through the draft, but a good talent evaluator would do their due diligence and supplement your roster with a couple of key impact free agents that will make a difference, save a draft pick at that position of need. This all make sense to me especially when you have money under the cap as the Bucs do. My question is, can't those same so called successful college talent evaluators evaluate free agent talent?
