We don't have the picks to waste to trade up this year, and giving up our first next year to move up 5 spots is a waste. We have some MAJOR glaring needs on the Oline that this draft could help solve, so either an OT at 7 or trade down to get an extra pick and still get an OT in the first.
Called It.
I wouldn't trade up for anyone. This draft class is great. We can get a guy in the 2nd round that would have been a top 20 pick in last year's draft. The draft is gonna be really deep all the way through to round seven and it seems stupid to give away picks from this draft. If anything we should be trading back to acquire more picks.

We can acquire all the depth there is to be had but until we get someone legit under center, it'll all be for naught.

If one of the top 3 QBs is there at 5 or 6, then sure....give up a future 3rd or something to move up a spot and get our guy.....but selling the farm to move up to the top 3 is just crazy talk. We could very well get three solid starters from this draft. I can't support throwing that all away, plus a future 1st, for anyone. This is coming from a huge fan of Bortles and Manziel. That said, if we did it I would just grin and bear it. I trust Lovie and will support whatever he decides is the right move.

Thats why, if we trade up, we should trade future picks. So many underclassmen in this one makes the next one weak
Btw, I'd absolutely trade Clayborn, Barron and Banks (two 1sts and a 2nd) for a Franchise QB. Every single time.

Would you Trade Gerald McCoy , Revis , and Lavonte David ( two 1sts and and a 2nd ) for JaMarcus Russel ?? Cause that's the other way it could go . LOL
Idk if there is a "jamarcus russell" anywhere in this draft.

Manziel could easily bust....you never know in this league . That's why you don't go mortgaging the future for unknowns.Look at RGIII . He was supposed to be a sure-fire franchise QB. Has he been worth what the Redskins gave up so far ? Hell no.

pretty sure that's what people say before the draft.

Except Bridgewater is a better prospect, we're not picking top 3, and next years draft will be weak, and its unlikely we'd draft 3 all pros in two consecutive draftsBut sure, other than that your example works

Russell was a bust before he was drafted. It amazes me that someone that supposed to be intelligent could give this guy 10s of millions of guaranteed dollars.
You give all those picks to the Rams , again , and you will be watching THEM win the Superbowl , not us.

I never once thought tebow or rgthree were worth anything. Two guys he gets compared to a lot for some odd reason.Personally, I believe manziel is much better than those two, and has the fire to lead a team.Nonetheless, even though I believe manziel is the "prize" of this draft, drafting bortles or teddy would also be an improvement. We can get a solid de in fa, so we should aim for a qb in draft. Hopefully, we won't be picking high again and drafting a qb should a priority because of that. It would be harder to jump from 15th to first/fifth next season, than seventh to third/fifth next.
I'd send 7, next year's first and 2nd for Bridgewater.
If Red Board ran the Bucs we would be $70M over the cap with no draft picks and the same record.
Says the guys who wants Luke McCown as our starter. Some real brains on you...not
