Don't see how it was rash.  It was 8 games too late IMO

As part of the ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW generation, I understand why you would view things that way. Dominating franchises aren't built that way. It takes time and an experienced QB. If the Bucs don't win the SB next season, the Glazers can blow it up again.

Schiano had a hell of an impact on the defense.

To be honest, I'm not even entirely convinced that that was true.  He had a healthier, more talented defense that hadn't given up on him.  I'm not sure it really makes sense to draw too much of a comparison to that last stretch under Morris.  It still wasn't really all that great of a defense.

Too much wrong about this franchise to be able to fix everything in less than two years. At least the new GM and HC will have something to build on, IF they can figure out what they should keep. Schiano had a hell of an impact on the defense. Now we'll never know if he could have done the same thing with the offense. The STs was better too.

Or if they don't get fired in two years...

Which dominating franchises would we have been emulating by carrying on with Schiano?

Schiano's coaching ability at the NFL level or leadership was/is questionable.  With the talent we have we left alot on the table but coaching held us back.  There is a years worth of proof to support this.  A rash decision is not an accurate portrayal of what took place.

Yes, because Josh F***ing Freeman was a future Hall of Famer. That clown single-handedly ruined this season, and cost Schiano his job.

Question-What would have been the course that you could support?  Also, what has Schiano shown you these past two years that makes you believe he has what it takes to turn it around from this point forward?

He hasn't even been on the team for months.  Will the excuses never end?

It's not really anything to do with someone being a part of Generation Me.NFL teams are turned around in 1 off season on a very regular basis, he got 2 years and went backwards while never looking close to get it right. It's dumber to keep throwing years away hoping a guy who's failing will eventually get it than dump them and gamble on another guy.

He was part of the team long enough to cost us 6 games, many which were handly winnable.

He was sent packing after 3 games, 2 of which when the offense left the field the team was winning. Give it a rest.

Seriously, if at this point your still pointing fingers at Freeman for the reason for this teams loses you really need to evaluate your rational. Amazing!!!  Heck the dudes been gone for how long and his name still comes up.  Hey I get it he's the be all say all to all woes of the Bucs.

Good thread. I don't agree with the OP, but I give sparky and delta credit for going against the majority. If I might address Milton's point, however: the Bucs may have been ahead when Freeman left the field, but there is no doubt that he left a lot of points on the board. Are you going to absolve him from blame when he gave Lindell a long FG attempt in the rain? And the only reason the Bucs were ahead in the first place was Foster's long INT return for a TD, nothing Freeman did on offense. As for the Jets game, he lost that when he threw a pick when we were up 9 and had a chance to put the game away.Schiano did a lot of good things. But in the end, a lack of a clue in terms of playcalling, the odd rushing the huddle thing, lack of real improvement on the field doomed him. No way, even with Freeman around for three games, we should have gone 4-12. No wins vs. winning teams. That's not rash; that's the rules of the game.

I really, really don't think that anyone is suggesting that Freeman was a good quarterback this season.  It's just that the team never looked like a good, well-coached team with quarterback issues.  It looked like a crappy, ill-prepared, undisciplined team with antiquated philosophies that couldn't adjust to its opponents.  And had quarterback issues.  At least, that's how it looked to me.  Trying to pin all the team's woes on Freeman, regardless of how toxic he was, just seems short-sighted.
