This fan base is at a crossroads. If they bring him back and he wins, great, maybe some bandwagoners will come back. If they bring him back and he fails again, this fan base is going to disappear.

Even if he comes back and wins they'll lose a lot of fans just by letting him come back. It will take back to back winning seasons to get people back. Even then it will be a slow process unless they make the SB.

wrong, it takes 1 good season to get fans back.look at carolina this year.one good season and the excitement will be back

Carolina isn't even remotely close to the Buc's Fan base. The Buc's have the most fickle fan base of any NFL team. Teams like Boston teams the fans are there win or lose even decades of losing the fans are still there. You can look at Buc's history to see that. Years of losing looking like creamsicles then Dungy comes and we change the uniforms and people slowly start to come back. They didn't fly back with 1 winning season. ROFLMAO

I really wanted to be proven wrong about Schiano.  I still paid good money to go to a few games this year.  But he is a TERRIBLE coach.  There isn't any wiggle room with that assertion.  He is a poor coach.  It all comes down to coaching and it is non-existent at One Buc.  I will not go to games next year if he is there. I will still wear my Buccaneer gear, but not at Ray Jay.

It's easy to be there for the team when it has a winning tradition. The Bucs had their window from 1996-2008, before that they were horrid for years. Combine that with the fact the Tampa area is a transient area with so many people from other places living here or living here part time, hard to build a loyal fan base like that. Places in the Northeast don't have that problem like the Bucs, Miami, Chargers, and Cardinals.

Reality for me is no more road trips down to Tampa with the family to watch games. The wife just laughs and says "you really want to watch that mess live" sadly  I've come to realize she is right.

@aastleford - Lavonte David on if he's confident Schiano will return: "As of now, I know nothing about it."

Exactly. Transient people make it far more brutal in Tampa then anywhere else, period. It's one thing to be upset your team stinks it's quite another to stop watching all together. Carolina fans don't know what it feels like to be a Buc fan. New England fans will never know because they don't give up....ever!

Penn St will need to do the Bucs dirty work for them.  However, IF he is hired by PSU, how long will that take, and what HC candidates will be left by then?  I'd like to see them hire Lovie or Zimmer as HC with Norv or Chuds as the OC.  Bottom line, Im done with the Schiano era.  He has done nothing in the last 2 years that I want to see more of or worked on next year.

My wife went with me to the Philly game and had a blast, but even she asked me yesterday what the hell is wrong with the team.

Good.  I have no idea why a successful college coach, especially one playing in a town with nothing else around, would ever leave for the NFL.  I'm a huge NFL fan, but lets face it, nothing beats a HC job at a major college program.

No doubt! This operation has been a losing one. Kinda surprising that so many people still pay to go
