Yes, Baker was expecting different coverage sets and missed, resulting in two picks. He’s going to have to be cognizant of that going forward. The secondary is NOT digging, they’re showing it, then bailing out to where they KNOW Baker wants to go… that’s going to have to be a point of emphasis for him.

I too thought the receivers (especially Rak & JMac) handled their responsibilities, and Otton is becoming a real threat. They will be fine, especially once Mike gets back in the lineup.

I believe our playoff chances were taken out of our hands, but if we keep getting better, and we can find a way to get a win we’re not supposed to get, we’re not out of the Wildcard race. Hopefully the NFC North will start to beat each others brains in (and we win out our remaining divisional games), and we might have an inside shot on a Wildcard spot.

…oh, and providing the defense re-learns how to consistently shut teams down like they did the Lions earlier, and the Falcons in the 2nd half.

All attainable. Winning the division is not likely, but getting into the playoffs and having developed a real running attack bodes well. All is NOT lost.

The offense continues to play well. There's almost nothing wrong with the offense that isn't nitpicking.

My nitpicking:

Flea flicker was a bad design

We weren't ready for the Bates punch out AGAIN

McMillan doesn't get this head around enough.

Baker is throwing picks from a clean pocket (but again I think both picks were really well designed coverages).

The WRs played ok for being our wr3/4/5/6.

Jarrett should step in more... Get Evans back in 4 weeks. Try to run the table vs the weak part of our schedule.

The defense and Bowles are the problem

Great points. As I said, all is NOT lost. I do think Bowles is left with a bucket of spit at Edge/ILB/Corner - and that’s on him. I think he recognizes that, because he didn’t pressure nearly enough yesterday, which is weird, but he can’t take anyone out of secondary rotation to contribute to pressures because, well, they’re kinda busy doing too much as it is. We were a couple of bad flags/no flags away from sending the stinkin’ Falcons home with a loss.

…but it does get harder from here. Those that showed up will have to take another step forward, because as the man said “the cavalry ain’t comin’”

the team is no longer competing for a playoff spot.  they will continue to roll with what they got.

I don’t believe that. Next few games are tough but the back end of our schedule is quite easy, and the NFC is very down this year.

we will most likely be 4-6 at the bye week

I think the worst the Falcons can be is 9-8 given their schedule which would require alot of help on the Bucs end

Bucs would need to go 6-1 in their last 7 to be 10-7 and have a chance to win the division. Possible but not probable....

Well. The most optimistic prediction I can muster is 6-2 over that run… looks like we’ll need a a lot more from just the Cowboys, Saints, Broncos, Vikings and The Football Team…looks like the Giants & Raiders will need to lend a hand!

Or maybe the NFC North will beat each other silly over the back half of the season and leave the NFC South with the Wildcard…

Yeah, that’s a Lloyd Christmas “So you’re telling me there’s a chance….” type chance.

But at least we know the odds.

Dionte Johnson acquired by the Ravens for a 5th. At this point Licht is calling his shot. I hope it works out but I don’t think it will.
